It’s amazing looking back. The Attitude Era (and wrestling in general) was basically ashamed of the 80s/early 90s and wanted to rid the “stench” of it completely off their TV, yet here we are in today’s society where nostalgia for the 80s/90s (in every form of entertainment) is viewed more favorably than anything over the last 20 years. You'd be surprised that 2000s nostalgia actually exists. Some people even get nostalgic for the Ruthless Aggression Era.

I've noticed this is a thing amongst younger millennials and zoomers who saw the Network documentaries a year or two ago and decided that the RA era was some underappreciated, overlooked golden era, largely because they didn't watch at the time so didn't see all the crap that wouldn't have made the documentaries. I mean, I've never seen them but I'm sure they didn't cover Mordecai, or Gene Snitsky kicking dolls, or Luther Reigns having had peas befo'.

Funny, my son was on Discord with a friend watching wrestling clips and Snitsky punting the baby was one on them. Both were like "wtf?!" Me, good old Dad, had to bring context into it.

I always wanted Abdullah the Butcher in the WWF in the Attitude Era. Just RANDOMLY attacking people for no rhyme or reason. Never booked on matches just every now and then coming out to put the fork into someone.

The Ultimate Warrior would've been simply "The Warrior" and he would've been in the Corporation. No facepaint, just long blonde hair, jeans and a trench coat.

The Mountie as a freelance bounty hunter (he gets "fired" from the RCMP so you don't have to worry about upsetting them again) he could even feud with Bossman again with the face/heel roles switched.
Bob Backland as Steve Blackmans crazed manager (he did manage Kurt for a cup of coffee I think).
Surprised they never brought in Bundy on a short term deal to put Big Show or Kane over, match would have been like watching paint dry but Vince would've liked the visual of the men squaring up to each other.

Duke The Dumpster would have probably had a decent run in the hardcore division... Have him push a dumpster full of weapons out to the ring for every match.
Akeem could have taken Owen's place in the Nation of Domination.

The Bushwackers would have actually fit in with the Sunday Night Heat tag team regulars.

IRS would audit Stone Cold IRS: "No Steve you can not claim tax back on your rentals of a zamboni, beer truck, monster truck and cement truck as a work expense!"

Never booked on matches just every now and then coming out to put the fork into someone. He would have been perfect as a hardcore title guy. Anyone know why it never happened? Abby priced himself out?

It felt so weird when guys like Animal, Tatonka, and Jim Duggen popped up in WWE in the early to mid 00s. I couldn’t see these guys in attitude era at all, they would stink out like sore thumbs. Well, Animal was around in the Attitude Era when both of the Legion of Doom/The Road Warriors were there in 1997-1998. Yeah but they were getting “O-L-D” chants towards the end of it. An Animal singles run where he looks like a member of a village people, that was just bizarre.

I find the fact that they were getting those chants pretty bizarre at all, especially given how things had become later on. Besides, Hawk and Animal weren't that old. Even when the Road Warriors returned in 1997, Hawk turned 40 that year while Animal was 36 for the most part until the fall when he turned 37. Then again, I guess that gimmick was a bit out of place during that time.

Their first run is was in the 1990. WWE went through a few different eras during the 90s so when they came back they felt like they stepped out of a time machine. It was kinda the same feeling I got with warrior in 96 and 98. Even though he had only been gone a few years it felt like it was forever ago. Which is how crazy wrestling has changed where a guys like Wesley Blake and Cutler could be in the company for seven years and only make it the main shows during the last month of it. People like Nattie and Tamina been in the company for the past ten years. Things that happen years ago seem recent just because how much the company has been stale WWE has been for the ten years or so.

Yet you had guys like Finlay in WWE during the mid-2000s who was in his late-40s at the time and still seemed a bit fresh. But dude was in great shape for his age and from what I hear is a legit badass.

I think Bundy was a guy who knew his worth and having a not so successful 1994-1995 run with WWF doubt he would want to go back just to be in the losing legend role. He was just as content to stay home and do the local indy shows and autograph signings and make a little money than work for WWF. He would be just as happy getting a Hall of Fame award from a local indy as he would have been from WWF. I always wanted Abdullah the Butcher in the WWF in the Attitude Era. Just RANDOMLY attacking people for no rhyme or reason. Never booked on matches just every now and then coming out to put the fork into someone. He would have been perfect as a hardcore title guy. Anyone know why it never happened? Abby priced himself out? He was approaching his late 50s, early 60s at the time and would have been one of the older active guys. I can see WWF not wanting that. I also think he is a guy who liked control of his character and WWF probably would have wanted to control what he did.

I don’t think full-time ever would’ve worked, but for a lot of the Attitude Era the Vinces were just throwing shit at the wall trying to see what stuck. We got a fair share of random cameos in WWF and WCW both around this time. Did Vince McMahon ever get along with Abby or had a reason not to book him? I know Abby worked for the McMahons but I think it may have been as far back as the WWWF days. If he worked once Vince Jr. took over it wasn’t very much.
