If it wasn't for his age (he'd have been in his late fifties by the time the Attitude Era arrived) Bad News Brown would have slotted right in, arguably as a far more convincing leader of the Nation than Faarooq.

Tenryu would come back simply as Ryu and team up with Ken Shamrock in a Street Fighter gimmick
Brutas Beefcake comes back and acts as the barber from Seinfeld that gives awful haircuts

You'd be surprised that 2000s nostalgia actually exists. Some people even get nostalgic for the Ruthless Aggression Era. I've noticed this is a thing amongst younger millennials and zoomers who saw the Network documentaries a year or two ago and decided that the RA era was some underappreciated, overlooked golden era, largely because they didn't watch at the time so didn't see all the crap that wouldn't have made the documentaries. I mean, I've never seen them but I'm sure they didn't cover Mordecai, or Gene Snitsky kicking dolls, or Luther Reigns having had peas befo'. Funnily enough, I'm an elder millenial (34 years old) who experienced the Ruthless Aggression era in real time and I'm still very nostalgic for a lot of it. It took place while I was in high school and it was probably the height of my wrestling fandom. I was watching every week. There was a lot wrong with it, but it was a good time to me.

See, I'm a bit younger than you and I mostly hated it, I really drifted away from wrestling from about early 2002 until ROH and TNA started to get exciting around 2003/4, and never fully came back to WWE.
I will say I think it had some worthwhile bits, and quite a few angles and wrestlers who I thought had potential that went unrealised, but it's not a period I really have much nostalgia for.

All-American Boy Bob Backlund would have fit right in. Not Crazy Bob, I'm talking no-nonsense Bob trying to have an actual wrestling match and the opponent would take every shortcut and cheap shot until Bob just had enough. That is one of my favorite things about older wrestling: when the good guy just has enough of that stuff and goes ape shit on a guy. Bruno and Pedro would do that too. Calling it a Hulk-Up is rather fitting, but these guys become the Incredible Hulk. You can swear these guys get bigger, swell up with anger, "Alright cocksucker! I've had enough of your shit!"

My drift away from wrestling was unfortunately partway through 2000, so I missed out on a lot of really great shit. I didn't really come back until like...right after the Invasion angle was over, but I was pretty much totally hooked from then until 2010ish. Since then I've just kind of been off and on.

Someone wrote this fan fiction of an Attitude era Warrior running wild on everyone. Randomly interrupting matches, attacking people in the crowd, Lilian Garcia etc and leading Vince and Austin to put their differences aside and team up to stop him. I think it would’ve been awesome. He becomes his own dark version from his insane comic

Do you have a link to that particular fic? I'd love to read that actually

An alternate universe where Magnum TA never has the accident could have thrived in the Attitude era.

Zeus returns as one of Vince’s bodyguards and is rebranded Hollywood Zeus and as a jab at Hollywood Hogan and gloats at how more successful he is as an actor and how he got the last laugh from No Holds Barred, wrestles occasionally but mostly watches Vince’s back or plugs the latest films he’s in and advertises them on each show and declares himself “too sweet” to wrestle and gets his stunt doubles to fill in some nights. And he doesn’t do interviews much as he is too important so his publicists speak for him, and the publicists verbally attack the announcers if they even try to talk directly to Zeus.
