I'm just now watching the dvr recording of Rampage. When the graphic of Don West memorial popped up, it hit me hard (even after already knowing he passed).

Don West is my favorite all time commentator and it hurts to lose him so young. The man had more delight in him than anyone.

I have to say I was quite moved by both AEW and WWE acknowledging and memorializing Don on their shows Friday. He never worked one second for either, bigger company. And that they’d take a moment for him really feels like true respect for the man and his work in the business. If I’m being honest…I expected AEW to because Tony is a wrestling fan and TNA is something that he watched as a fan. Cole mentioning it was more surprising to me…and as the voice of the largest company there is really felt like the industries lead announcer showing respect for someone who is in his line of work who he had that respect for. Both warmed my heart a bit this cold winter.

A lot of Don's former coworkers are in both companies, so I guess it isn't a big surprise in hindsight. And I think Jeremy Borash is still at WWE right?

Don, for better or worse, is one of the most influential voices of 00’s wrestling. As others have noted, a good portion of the roster can attribute at least a bit of their overness to West being so enthusiastic. I’m glad we’re able to acknowledge that as an industry even if he had obvious flaws as a commentator

I’m glad we’re able to acknowledge that as an industry even if he had obvious flaws as a commentator I even remember West managing Amazing Red in 2009, which I believe was based on the night when West yelled "Go Red!" on commentary back in 2002 when Red and the SATs faced Triple X on one of the weekly TNA PPVs.

Hands down the most underrated commentator ever.
I always felt like TNA lost its identity a little bit when they replaced Don West. His over excitement and enthusiasm especially during the X Division matches really added a lot to the vibe.
RIP Don West. Thanks for the memories.

Dude was such an essential part of the old TNA. I won’t act like he was always great, but he was definitely memorable. RIP

I loved Don on commentary. Me and my friends used to order every ppv back to the weekly days. 2 lines we quoted for years.
The naturals were facing a mystery team. Some shenanigans happened and it ended up being half of amw and half of triple x. I don't remember who. But when the second guy came out don shouts it just got more weird!
And when Christian debuts he screams the rumors are correct!
It wasn't even in a mocking way. We loved Don on commentary. His energy was infectious. I've even watched his baseball card infomercials and he made me wanna buy some junk wax from him. Don was awesome, I really hoped he'd pull through. Like I saw earlier on here tna lost a bit if it's identity when he left. I'll remember him fondlt. RIP Don

Bit late but R.I.P. Don West. I too enjoyed his commentary work on TNA, he was a lot of fun, his scream when Christian debuted is my personal favourite, Mike Tenay's work on TNA wasn't the same once he left IMO.

One of my fave calls was after Samoa Joe killed Scott Steiner with a Machete, Don West, who had recently turned heel, quite reasonably said "well Mike, you can't say that Joe hasn't gone too far", and Tenay said "He deserved it".

Can I just say how actually good he made TNA to watch when he was commentary?
He just genuinely enjoyed wrestling, seriously he just loved the show he was calling.
