According to WCW Power Plant trainer Dewayne Bruce : On Bret Hart and his issue with Goldberg: “Bret Hart, he got kicked by Bill. There was no influence on protecting or pushing in the ring at the Power Plant. That’s quite the opposite. I think it’s shame on him. He’s been a veteran in his sport, getting the ultimate push that anybody’s ever got, and if he don’t know to get his hand up, that’s his fault. That’s the way I look at it. And I’m not trying to talk bad about anybody, I’m just talking.”
He's talking alright and it's the smelly kind

I've see enough workers do a great looking thrust kick without ever touching the guy to know this is some bullshit.

Thought this would be Bischoff's hot take that Bret injured himself because Goldberg didn't protect Bret on the corner figure four spot, so Bret's fault. At least someone came out with a more dumbshit take.

This makes me wonder if being a massive f***wit was the main requirement to train people at the power plant.

Someone's on Goldberg's Christmas shopping list. I mean, Goldberg is responsible for the guy getting what was probably the biggest payday of his career as well as his only run at the top of the card in his entire career. I can see him feeling he owes the Goldberg some loyalty for that.

with Dewayne Bruce, I automatically think of the Weird Weekends episode on WCW, and he just doesn't come across very well at all

This makes me wonder if being a massive f***wit was the main requirement to train people at the power plant. I mean, Batista's Power Plant experience would back this up. It was basically the WWE Performance Center if all the trainers were Bill DeMott.

Sarge was such an untalented f***wit bully I'm surprised he never got WWE gig as a trainer at the time

Coming from the guy who is known the not really train you but beating you down like a dog with workout exercise but little in ring work. You wonder why most of the people that he trained hardly made it. The ones that did was based on looks and was never really good. May Bruce should train his wrestlers on how to work and not try to work them out until they throw up. Bret not knowing how to put his hands up? A guy who trained for years and years and grow up wrestling or the guy that was trained for maybe six months before called up to the main roster and getting a massive push. The same guy who KOed himself in matches by spearing the ring post. Does Bruce also blame the ring post for not protecting him?

The Power Plant had trainers? Yeah he was that meathead that punished Louis Theroux by putting him through a horrible training session because he thought Louis didn't respect Diz Bizzness and while Louis didn't say "I think this is fake" he was close to the line. Been a while since I watched it but I think Louis respected the dedication but he saw it as a performance art or theatre and was trying to get people to admit it was a work and not shoot

The Power Plant had trainers? In fairness when Paul Orndoff took over the training there got a lot better. As for the injury? Accidents happen all the time though I don't remember Goldberg using the thrust kick before that so the question is why did he use that then.

He might not have allowed sickening things like Demott but both are wastes of money and a spot in the wrestling world. And Bruce especially was probably a bitter guy for always being the opening match with never a hope of going further. And all because of his lack of talent. He was probably super bitter in the 1990s knowing that with WCW getting hotter these young rookies would be signed to big contracts and have a good spot on the card.
I can't wait to see Bret's response to this. If Bruce wanted fame, he got it. Bret won't stop talking about this one for years. I really hope someone posts this to Bret.

He kicked him in the head. Like, full force.
WCW trainers were so shit that they didn't even bother to teach "aim for the upper chest" like every strong but safe kick, lariat or headbutt I've ever seen.
