He was charismatic and he had an aura to him. Sid was a 2 time champion who had two impressive finishers with the choke slam and powerbomb.
How would he fit into today's WWE?
Classics against the like of Rollins, Reigns, Cesaro, Owens, Zayn, Lashley, etc.....
I think, he would be today's most popular superstar in the company, by far, if he was inserted into this generation.

If nothing else, I feel like his charisma translates extremely well in any era.

He'd get some criticism for not being great in the ring, but he'd also have a lot of fans because of his charisma and look. I think he'd do very well, especially since there'd be a LOT of great wrestlers for him to work with. Someone like Adam Cole, Ricochet, or even Ziggler bumping around for him would be very entertaining.

He'd be micromanaged so much that he'd do whatever he could to stay in Florida and watch softball.

I may be a bit biased since I've always had a soft spot for Sid but I think he'd do well in this era because he did have charisma and an aura. Some might criticise him for his wrestling but I always felt he was a solid wrestler so I don't think that would've been an issue and there's a number of wrestlers today that I would've liked to see him wrestle.
Only issue would be the micro-management and some of the booking decisions that goes on at WWE.

Get rolled up by Ricochet for a loss, destroys him after the match.

If nothing else, I feel like his charisma translates extremely well in any era. Yeah, I honestly can't see an era he isn't an attraction in American wrestling. Beyond his charisma and appearance, the wrestlers themselves always said that Sid was self-aware of his own limitations to a very honest degree, but didn't let it affect his confidence. Something like that tells me he could have found his lane with everyone from Johnny Valentine and Sputnik Monroe to Cesaro and McIntyre to Balor and Cole.

Sid fits well in any era. He was huge, he had a devastating powerbomb, and the dude had a strange charisma about him. We need a psycho Sid in wrestling.

At his current age, he could be a fun one-off mystery partner for somebody against AJ & Omos for the tag belts.

He would struggle enormously in the world of fully scripted promos. They'd either have him nearly stop talking completely or punish him with a lame gimmick, and he'd go from monster world title contender to opening-match comedy act as part of a tag team.
