In this era, he wouldn't fit in. He'd stand out.

Just thinking about a Sheamus/SID Tag Team of death makes me sad that it can't happen

If nothing else, I feel like his charisma translates extremely well in any era. Yeah, I honestly can't see an era he isn't an attraction in American wrestling. Beyond his charisma and appearance, the wrestlers themselves always said that Sid was self-aware of his own limitations to a very honest degree, but didn't let it affect his confidence. Something like that tells me he could have found his lane with everyone from Johnny Valentine and Sputnik Monroe to Cesaro and McIntyre to Balor and Cole. I honestly believe that Sid in his prime could win the ROH World Title at their height and nobody would bat an eye. Dude was getting cheers in 1989 NWA as a heel.

They could set up Bayley’s “Ding Dong Hello” interview show at the entrance ramp at the first SmackDown live show in July. Then Sid could unexpectedly bust open the door and challenge Roman for the Universal Title at SummerSlam in my fantasy world!

The stadium can't go to full capacity, if I remember right, and that is a main event, EVERYWHERE. Sid is the funniest.

I love Sid but I don't see him fitting in today's WWE. I think his wacky charisma could get him over but he just wouldn't have the ring style to fit. Now a days even the hosses are doing crazy athletic high spots. That's wasn't Sid's thing. It was just real basic straight ahead power moves with him and I don't know if he would be able to adjust. Then on top of that the guy was real flaky and would constantly bail and take his ball and go home when he was unhappy. Do you really think he would put up with WWE's micromanagement? Highly unlikely.

He'd be fine. They're back in the mood of bringing in awkward big men who can't work well. Just look at Omos and Azeez. Sid could've done a role like that pretty easily.

This is assuming they'd use him properly, though.

Difference though between Braun and Sid was even though their movesets were both basic Braun was a lot faster and more explosive where he could adapt to todays style. Sid even though he was athletic (that kip up out of the headscissors spot he would do shows that) he was also slow and clunky and could just come off as real awkward at times.

On the flip side, the training he'd get today would be very different from the training he got back in the day. And that's what we really need to consider for this question. A lot of people have pointed out how qualities like his size and presence would help him, those are also the things that'd most likely be constant between then and how. However, his in ring ability would undoubtedly have turned out differently today. The key question would be how he'd have done trained on the modern WWE promo style, which would undoubtedly be his stumbling block. Outside WWE? He could probably have gotten away with it. Also, I'd like you all to consider the potential of Sid in Lucha Underground.

Sid is Pro-Wrestling. The fact he can't do Armdrags or 30 minutes of Chain Wrestling doesn't even slightly matter when you have the aura he had/has. Evidence? The reaction he got in every single promotion he turned up in.

He would be a main eventer like Strowman but he wouldn't be the biggest star in the company.
I liked Sid and he played his role perfectly but he was never meant to be "The Guy"

Sid was pretty much Kevin Nash before Kevin Nash stopped trying. So he'd probably go about as well as Nash did last time.
I know people like Sid, I liked him enough too back in the day, and adding the fact he's pretty much become a wrestling meme, I get why people think they'd want him back. But honestly, he was never good. That's the nostalgia glasses fooling you. Like, Big Show wrestles circles around Sid, and people here HATED him. But there's no argument on who was the better wrestler. f***ing Kane is better than Sid, and no one wants him back either.

He would struggle enormously in the world of fully scripted promos. They'd either have him nearly stop talking completely or punish him with a lame gimmick, and he'd go from monster world title contender to opening-match comedy act as part of a tag team. Right, I love Sid, but this thread is being far too generous. Sid’s entire thing was screaming whatever shit came to his mind and he got by by being scary and intense. Imagine him trying to do “two week’s ago on Raw” ten-minute recap promo. He’d get tongue-tied and Kevin Dunn would hate him.

Yeah, he is, but my argument against this is that Modern Day WWE no longer is.
