Suwama tests positive for COVID-19 and is no longer the Triple Crown champion. link

This honestly felt inevitable, but it still sucks. Hope he'll be alright.

It puts the company in a very interesting position. They probably will end up putting Lee in a match with someone who he lost to recently for the vacant title.

Interesting parallels to SHINGO, come to think of it. I am of two minds. Obviously, I'd far prefer Suwama be safe, but I'm not going to lie, the Triple Crown scene has looked really stagnant. Maybe Jake Lee's time to shine could be now to inject some life into it.

Heel Jake Lee has been the highlight of All Japan the past few months. Ever since taking over Enfants Terribles and rechristening them as Total Eclipse. It's given him the edge I've felt he's needed for a while to become a star.

They're getting ballsy in their solution: a triple threat match this Saturday between Jake Lee, Kento Miyahara, and Yuma Aoyagi for the Triple Crown.
EDIT: I think I was mistaken, this appears to be WAVE rules and not a straight up triple threat? A series of single match with the first person to win two in a row winning.

I suppose it's only appropriate, three fighting for a triple crown. Do you have anyone in particular you're pulling for here? Kento seems like the safe option, if that's the desire, given he's been on top before.

They've been trying to push Jake Lee over the line for ages now. Just put the damn belt on him, or stop wasting everyone's time.

Question as I don't follow All Japan: When did they switch back to the three-belt setup?

I think had Suwama been healthy and made the match against Jake Lee he would have lost the belt to him anyway, so I think he's still winning, with this being a way to at least cause more illusion to it not being a no-brainer outcome. I'd probably prefer he wins because he seems to have the most set storyline as the new big bad. I feel like Kento is sorta at the point where if things don't work out you can just go to him at any time. Question as I don't follow All Japan: When did they switch back to the three-belt setup? They actually haven't, it's the one belt display but the three are used in special or ceremonial occasions, in this case because it was vacated and to put weight/importance on the big match.

Ah, makes sense. Thank you

So this news didn’t change All Japan’s original plans for the title: Jake Lee has finally won the big one and is the new triple crown champion.
