He’s ready once he doesn’t take a buckle bomb from Seth Rollins into a barricade. And he’s always been ready.

Better IC champ than Apollo. That's for sure.

For me it's mostly defined by the awesome Lesnar match that unfortunately went nowhere and the shitty Lashley feud where they had 4,000 matches and none of them rose above the level of, "Dear God will this end already?" And that shitty feud with Corbin that also went on forever.
At least we were spared Sister Abigail vs Pumpkin Spice Demon.

Some of us wanted to see that, thankyouverymuch. That whole feud should have been a license to print money.

Some say "spared". Others say "robbed"! It's me. I'm Others.

His not being on the main roster isn't a question of if he's ready for it or not. He's been beyond ready for it. Hell, they made him the first Universal Champion and probably would've had a nice, long establishment reign for it if Seth Rollins didn't injure him. It's a matter of choice. He was miserable on the main roster and made the move to NXT of his own volition. I sometimes think, if Seth didn't hurt Balor, things would've been so different. The butterfly effect would be: Balor has a healthy and lengthy title run Goldberg doesn't show up Shane vs. Brock at Wrestlemania Owens and Jericho feud without the universal title Jericho doesn't get angry their feud didn't include the title Jericho doesn't leave WWE Jericho doesn't go to NJPW Jericho doesn't meet Omega Jericho doesn't start up AEW with Omega and company Crazy. One injury changed the course of the business. Why would Balor haveing a healthy reign in any way affect Goldberg showing up?

One injury changed the course of the business. Why would Balor haveing a healthy reign in any way affect Goldberg showing up? Simple. Balor not getting injured would have altered at least the six months or so that followed. Without the injury, KO doesn't get his run with the title; Lesnar and Goldberg either aren't brought in at all or are brought in to feed them to Balor, who would have been built up as the next Cena (yes, I think that was the direction they were going with him). Without Lesnar there, Jericho doesn't get into a snit with Lesnar over what happened to Orton, doesn't end up leaving WWE and doesn't necessarily join AEW. We do not know how Balor would have been booked after Summerslam; I suspect that Rollins would have remained a heel, never having been denied the title when HHH put his thumb on the scale and gave the title to KO. So, that's the September and October PPVs looked after. Survivor Series might have been an open question, but Balor would have been spoiled for choice. If he wasn't going to hold the title for a whole year, we'd be looking at the title changing hands at Royal Rumble with either a rematch at Wrestlemania or possibly Finn moving to SDL and going for the WWE title. Long story short - Balor was likely earmarked for a fairly lengthy title run (at least, relative to modern terms) meant to build him as the next Face of the Company(tm). While AEW was inevitable, the push by many fans for AEW to grab disaffected WWE talent would not have been so loud or so numerous; everyone AEW has signed from WWE would have given Balor all kinds of opponents and all kinds of opportunities to show them to best effect. Balor as champion would have been possibly the easiest foundation Vince had to work with.

Balor as champion would have been possibly the easiest foundation Vince had to work with. I like Balor but I think you're really reaching with a lot of that. If they wanted Balor to be the face of the company he would have been. Reigns got injured right at the beginning of his singles push then still won the Rumble and main evented Wrestlemania when he returned. Rollins got injured during his first WWE title reign and came back to regain the title within a month. Batista got injured a lot and it never affected his push, same with Orton and many others. If they were that high on Balor that they viewed him as the next Cena they wouldn't hold a freak injury against him. Rollins was always going to turn face whether Balor got hurt or not. The plan was for him to face HHH at Wrestlemania 33. It was also the plan for Wrestlemania 32 before Rollins got hurt. Lesnar/Goldberg had nothing to do with Balor getting injured either. It was always going to happen. They put out a trailer for Goldberg in WWE 2K17 which got a ridiculous amount of views and buzz which made them think damn, there might be money in bringing him in for a match. If Balor wasn't injured he would have been in the 5 v 5 match at Survivor Series (WWE champion Styles and Universal champion Owens were in it) while Goldberg/Lesnar still main evented. Jericho's near scuffle with Lesnar had nothing to do with him leaving the company. It was a fairly minor thing. He done some of his best work in the 6 months afterwards with the Owens partnership then still made sporadic appearances later in 2017 and 2018. I really don't think Balor's injury has any kind of huge domino effect. The only person I think it really affected is Kevin Owens. If Balor doesn't get then Owens doesn't get a 6 months Universal title reign. I still think Owens gets it though, just later on when they need it on a heel to drop it to Goldberg.
