Say this man, after walking out on WCW. If they settled quick and he's officially gone from WCW.
How would the fans react to him? Genuinely curious here. Would he be cheered and respected like Hall was in his stint?
Or would he be booed out of the arena?
He would probably come in like a Hollywood Hogan like gimmick.
Potential matches against Sabu, RVD, Raven, Dreamer, etc....

So remember Cena in the Hammerstein Ballroom?
Hogan appearing would make that look like "Just look at me" era Rob Conway.

I feel Hogan is one of those guys that would get what the ECW base wants and put more effort into his matches, basically almost like his Hardcore Hogan WCW run in the Kidman feud. I also however could see him come in and play up 80s Hogan but be clueless why people are booing him, In the land of extreme here's Hogan being a good boy scout type.
However one thing is that Hogan would absolutely tower over most of the ECW roster at that time. I feel the crowd would cheer him at first just for the "holy shit its Hogan" moment, and then instantly boo him out of the building right after.

This sounds about right, I could definitely hear a "holy shit" chant and then eventually the crowd would turn on Hogan and Hogan would turn on them. He would also be able to play that crowd like a fiddle.

If he'd come in as Hollywood Hogan and had the attitude he was doing the company a favor, he would have drawn unbelievable heat.
His size relative to a lot of the roster also would have made him look believable steamrolling the low and mid-card talents.
The rub would come when he'd have to make ECW's main eventers look strong, if not outright lose to them.

If you're charismatic enough you can get over anywhere. I'm sure when he first appeared he would get a massive holy shit type reaction then derogatory things chanted at him but he'd quickly have them eating out the palm of his hands and be the top heel in the company. We basically saw it with Cena at One Night Stand. He'd probably be such a great heel that fans would start cheering him after a couple of months.

I am in the camp that Hogan was good enough he would've figured out how to get over as either a face or a heel.

Midlife crisis Hogan/Identity Crisis Hogan, he'd think he's every movie character he portrayed ie Thunderlips, Shep from Suburban Commando, Santa With Muscles, Mr. Nanny etc.

So remember Cena in the Hammerstein Ballroom? Hogan appearing would make that look like "Just look at me" era Rob Conway. Only without the excellent improv Cena was able to do. Hogan would just divide by zero.

He entered WCW, where people expected a higher level of workrate and rather than up his game, he had the workrate guys job for him and his buddies while he relived the 1980s to a chorus of boos. He didn't decide he was going to adapt, he had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the NWO and babysat to ensure he didn't renege on the day of the event.

If Hogan showed up unannounced at the ECW Arena in any capacity the crowd would have popped huge! Afterwards who knows though.

One by one they’d fall like dominoes and it wouldn’t be pretty either! The ECW faithful would chant HO-GAN! HO-GAN! HO-GAN! as he destroyed the roster, starting with New Jack.

Well if Mike Awesome is still there the same time Hogan appears, he is the cousin of Hulk's nephew Horace, so he'd technically be kin, maybe they can do a storyline with that, either Hogan manages him and they become the Hogan Dynasty, or Mike turns on him and says he refuses to be in his uncle's shadow. He'd declare himself the American Made Killer Mike Awesome Hogan.

Didn't the ECW fans basically mark out for Sid, who didn't adapt or change anything when he was in ECW? I figure if they'd cheer for Sid, they'd cheer for Hogan in person then go home and be snarky on the internet afterward.
Even if they did boo Hogan, I think one hardcore match(say against Dreamer) where Hogan did a huge bladejob would win over the ECW faithful.

Hogan showing up, strumming the air guitar to 'Voodoo Chile' would get a massive pop, and honestly? Look at the list of the people on the ECW roster. Hogan could out work a significant chunk of them, and I have a feeling he would probably go for a lot of the hardcore stuff. I think a feud with Corino would be a natural fit.

He didn't decide he was going to adapt, he had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the NWO and babysat to ensure he didn't renege on the day of the event. but then he goes to Japan and does the exact opposite. His first Japan run happened while he was a rising star with something to prove, his second happened when his rep was shot in the west and he needed a big payday. Whenever Hulk has leverage, you get Hulk by the numbers, the same Hulk we saw in the WWF in 1993, the same we saw in WCW in 1995 and onward, the same we saw after his wcw contract renewal in 1998, the same one we saw after his third run in the WWE post Mr. America, the same one from the Hulkamania tour, the same one that surfaced in Impact... He wouldn't give ECW fans something new, not unless they were the only place that would have him.
