If he wants to make these movies until the end of time, I’m good with that.

Clerks 2 was about Mews and him coming off of the heavy drugs wasn't it? (although he's still a pot and weedster) Clerks 2 was about him realizing that he didn't care about being a big Hollywood director after the failure of Jersey Girl and Cop Out. Dante and Randall realizing they were happier just working at the Quick Stop was a metaphor for Smith realizing he just wants to make his style of movies because it makes him happy even if he looks like a loser to someone else. Now the sub plot of Jay and Silent Bob being sober was based on Memes being sober though. Cop Out came after Clerks II.

You didn’t hear it from me, but Dogma is on YouTube if you wanna see it and don’t have the hard to find DVD or put money in their pockets. I'm glad that I still have my DVD to this day. Yeah, I have the Blu Ray release and the DVD special edition. I don’t get rid of any Kevin Smith stuff, I still have my VHS recording of the two episodes of Clerks TAS that aired despite having the DVD for 20 years

He said Strike Back was the final movie, but when God closes the book at the end, there’s pages left. So he built himself an out, even then.

Can't say I'm excited for this. Reboot was awful.

I just hope Smith's wife either isn't in the film or has a tiny part. She was horrible in Clerks II.

I thought she was perfectly fine in Clerks II, since we were ultimately not supposed to like her character all that much, but she's definitely most tolerable in small doses.

I just hope Smit Askewniverse h's wife either isn't in the film or has a tiny part. She was horrible in Clerks II. She has 3 different characters in the View Askewniverse plus now Kevin Smith exists in it, so it’s possible we get 4 versions of her.

But even in that film I noticed how she is a horrible actress.

Its not bad at all, but it was a flop and Smith admits he kinda went out of his way to make a more mass appeal type movie. And it kills me that Kevin Smith and Will Smith never did another project together.

Can't say I'm excited for this. Reboot was awful. I found Reboot to be cringeworthy at first, but as it progressed, it got a little better. That's just me, though.

Unpopular opinion:
I was almost disappointed that Jeff Anderson decided to come back. I love the Askewniverse movies, but I am not a fan of the Randall character. He was tolerable in Clerks 1 but I outright loathed him in Clerks II. I totally understood why Dante wanted to get the f*** away from him and spent most of the movie hoping that Elias would go full George McFly on him.

I have a question for some of you - have you guys even checked that the other View Askew films that weren't directed by Kevin Smith? I mean like Drawing Flies, A Better Place, and Vulgar? The only one of those three I have watched was Drawing Flies and I thought it was passable for a student film but not for everyone either. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend anybody to watch it. I had heard that Vulgar is disturbing, and A Better Place, I heard that that one is mostly a serious drama.
There is another one called Big Helium Dog, but I don't know a way to watch that one. That one was never released on DVD out here.

My copy is actually signed by the director, Brian Johnson. He wrote "This movie sucks!" on it. It's a rape-revenge film. I thought it was well-made but not exactly a fun movie.

I own Vulgar on dvd and Drawing Flies on Blu Ray, and I definitely watched A Better Place years ago. Vulgar is incredibly f***ed, but Bryan Johnston is a really f***ed up dude so it makes sense. I agree with your assessment of Drawing Flies and I honestly don’t remember much about A Better Place, I seem to remember it being rather cookie cutter in feeling
