Do you immediately put him in the world title program? Or an entry feud with Miro for the TNT title?

Do you immediately put him in the world title program? Or an entry feud with Miro for the TNT title? He’d be above the TNT title. He could work a non-title program with a main eventer, though. If Hangman is beating Omega, Punk can come in to face Omega right after All Out.

Definitely my thought. I think if TK could sign Punk that Colt would have to put things aside. I wouldn’t be surprised that if this does happen that they’ve already reconciled. You don’t hear Punk talking about it much anymore. could be that he’s asked about it so much he just doesn’t want to talk about it anymore Perhaps. Don’t think them not getting along would preclude them from being professional and working in the same company.

Can you imagine if AEW landed both Bryan and Punk in the next couple of months? Could be a real game changer and accelerate their catching of Raw in the ratings.

I think the fact I can’t look at what you wrote and laugh at it shows a) how much AEW has grown and b) how crazier the business is now compared to before the pandemic.

Realise that I’m in the vast minority here but I hope AEW stays away
For me, the guys ability is overshadowed by how extremely unlikeable I find him and I know wrestling has people in it who have far worse crimes than just being a douchebag but I wouldn’t be a fan of them either
Take that money and offer it on top of Daniel Bryan’s original offer (or what would have been his original offer if one had been made)
My feelings aside I know it’d make a lot of people happy so fair enough from their POV

Yeah, I feel like the curiosity factor could be real strong. But then, not quite sure what they do next with him. I kinda think things have passed him by. What made Punk more unusual a decade plus ago is now fairly commonplace across the board. It'll all be completely worth it if one of his opponents does the crab walk, mind. I feel like you're selling him short in the ring. He was creative in adding to his offensive arsenal, and he was really good at building spots. And even though his joints were in rough shape, his conditioning was always excellent, so I think he can definitely keep up a fast pace even older. Just make him head of a stable, and the whole "you have to go through my underlings to face me" schtick will justify only having him wrestle on big shows. Also, Matt Hardy is right now putting on enjoyable matches by being strategic with when he does any kind of big spot, and focusing mostly on great ring psychology and big character work. Virtually nothing Matt's doing on a move standpoint is special or notable on cards stacked with current generation strandouts and future innovators. He's still got AEW crowds hooked on him. At absolute basement worst, Punk could settle into a position like that.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure Bryan is going to happen around the time of the NY shows. Now with this Punk news, it looks like a real possibility they get both guys. I think that would probably be the most interesting way for this to go down for the business as a whole (though my ultimate dream match right now would be a returning Punk vs. heel Roman).

Like, not saying he was a failure at all but he took the fact the Broken character wasn’t clicking without crowds combined with the aftermath of his match against Sammy and turned lemons into lemonade. If Punk can get that out of himself, that’d be worth it alone.

Yeah, Matt's entire career resurgence is on the back of character work. And a lot of Punk's magnetism has been character work. He's great with ring psychology, but what drew people in was every time he picked up the stick; he spoke and people listened. The kind of career twilight Matt's having is the kind Punk would also be having right now if things hadn't gone the way they did. That's the way that the worn down veteran has, historically, continued to thrive, because not everyone is Dustin Rhodes.

Maybe Punk and Danielson debut together on same night as a duo. They simply step over the guard rails together and climb into the ring in approaching MJF and Wardlow?
Save the Punk & Danielson vs The Elite for 2022.

That's the way that the worn down veteran has, historically, continued to thrive, because not everyone is Dustin Rhodes. I mean, there was a point where Dustin Rhodes wasn’t Dustin Rhodes. His own career resurgence was like if Magic Johnson decided he wanted to return to basketball and somehow was 80s Johnson again.

If they get Punk and Bryan, I say AEW will have a good core of WWE guys. Miro, Gunn, Hardy, Christian, Andrade, Jericho, Dustin, Dax, Hager, Black, Sydal, Pac, Spears, Wight and Henry. Good core of guys who have experience working else where, that can help boost the roster and knowledge of what it's like working in WWE. It can only help the rest of the roster. Advice from WWE vets: "You weren't in the Shield? You're f***ed kid."

If Kenny Omega and/or the Young Bucks need time off soon, the arrival of CM Punk would be fortuitously timed to give AEW a big, marquee name and angle with some intrigue. There are also some worthwhile names who might be freed up - I could see Punk doing really good things with Darby Allin, Christian, and Orange Cassidy if he were a heel, or with Malakai Black, Ethan Page, and Miro if he were a face.
...but please keep him away from Cody Rhodes, I think the combined flair for the dramatic between the two of them might make a few rings explode.

Do you immediately put him in the world title program? Or an entry feud with Miro for the TNT title? You have Omega or MJF claim to be be best in the world then Punk's music hits

I haven't watched any wrestling since Mania but damn it if CM Punk wouldn't get me back to whichever company has him
