AEW shouldn't say anything one way or another. If Punk signs and he shows up, great surprise. If he doesn't sign, you can't be blamed for nothing you actually didn't comment on. Also, I doubt AEW fans are going to chant "CM PUNK!" at shows. That's one of those chants that only really happens with a more er, hostile audience. Only way it'd happen at All Out is if the show sucks. TNT won't be happy. Announced cm punk debut will break ratings record

Get Punk in at All Out, and then six months into Hangman's title reign a Straight Edge (and heel) Punk vs. beer drinking Hangman writes itself. I like but should punk being going over young star?!

Also am I to assume he and Colt worked something out? Otherwise... awkward. SRS just said on yt less than an hour ago that stuff between them is apparently still “not good”. If Punk does go to AEW, hopefully, that can be a big step towards them reconciling. Or at least getting on amicable terms again.

Believe it or not... CM Punk is only 42 In wrestling you could consider him a veteran but not someone who it is ridiculous to get big wins. He could still be considered a prime star.

I think he does get title but not through face page but maybe beating heel mjf. He should be booked to elevate guys like darby, jungle boy etc.

This would be a big deal no matter how you slice it. Punk would not only be a draw in ring but for anything they let him do. No one has brought up how he could also do commentary and kill it. I would absolutely love to see it.
Punk can realistically have a great run left in him. If the likes of Christian can return and be as good as he has been with just as much a layoff as Punk and a much more extensive injury history, then I can believe Punk coming back and being fine with the right amount of willingness and focus to get back in ring shape and get the rust off. Help AEW has a really good training system and a ton of coaches.
As others have said the big caviat is if Punk and Colt would be good but ultimately it's a job. Jack Evans and Ivelisse didn't kill each other when they were in AEW at the same time. I imagine Colt and Punk know the deal if it happens... it is what it is.
Had a feeling Punk in AEW might come to pass. Only reason he didn't do it the first time is no one knew how sustainable AEW was going to be... now with it being here to stay? You're starting to see more people bite. The next few weeks to months are gonna be super interesting...

He's a big enough name that he should be in the conversation for lead babyface in the company alongside Page and Moxley or heel with Omega and MJF. He's not 47-48 like Christian, he's got a lot left to give if he wants to do that.

LMAO. F*** this company. I hate you, Tony.
Just gonna keep shoving all these anti-hero top faces that annoy me in my face show after show. Moxley, Kingston, now Punk’s on the way, oh my god. Save us, Cody and Jungle Boy, save us.
In all seriousness, that would be a huge pickup for them. Have him feud with MJF, the chemistry would probably be good there.

I both want and fear promos from both of them. They'd both get real personal I have a feeling considering their promo tactics. MJF has so much ammo against Punk and I can only imagine what he'd pull out.

I like but should punk being going over young star?! I didn't say he should go over Hangman Jobbing page who they've booked as top hope would hurt - I understand you didn't advocate for that but I'm just taking this up. Yes punk needs to win to start but will need to be somebody else. Can't build somebody as savior of aew & then job to ex wwe guy

I get it.
The roster seems a bit bloated on the surface (and I know folks don’t want to hear but it was inevitable with the influx of talent) but it’s kinda like Peyton Manning suddenly became available. If he has even a fraction of what he had before still in the tank, it’s a pretty hard deal to turn down.

I say this fully admitting he's my favorite wrestler and want him in AEW so bad lol.

It does help talent are taking indie dates so they’re not needed at every show but the idea of it I can understand. We just had that sporting example, Lionel Messi almost completely left Barcelona and yes, he is 34 and his wage would be astronomical to most clubs but even if he’s got about 1/5th of what he had in his younger years, most teams would have killed for that 1/5th. And to put it a wrestling way, remember that Summer when it was basically New Japan and WWE playing Edward and Jacob to WALTER’s Bella Swan?

I think this might be an example of form over content - sure, they present him as a Stone Cold-esque wildcard, but the reality is his character is nothing like that and (the first Omega feud notwithstanding) has consistently been portrayed as a guy with a strong moral core. He's more like Batman than The Punisher. He's definitely not squeaky clean, but the only time he even cheated to win a big match was when MJF tried it first, and that's a line even Cena and Hogan were willing to cross. I'd honesty don't see much difference between the alignment positioning of Cody Rhodes and Jon Moxley
