Cool match, but a downgrade. I said in the rating's thread that Gage should have been #5 unless they have something HUGE planned for it, then at the very least he should have been #4 so that MJF would have to pull out all the stops on the fifth one as like "holy shit you beat my hired assassin, I need to fork out all the money and end this".
Now it's "you beat my hired assassin, now here have a match from 1998 where you have to go to the top rope".
Juvi should have been #2 or #3 with Gage being #4, leading to a huge #5. Or the last final "HOLY SHIT!" boss if they don't have anything great for #5.
The shot of a bloodied Jericho with the HUGE #5 announcement or having just beaten and won the entire thing would have felt more iconic to me.

Or the last final "HOLY SHIT!" boss if they don't have anything great for #5. Ok from a storyline perspective... why would MJF save Gage for last? Why wouldn't be be second? He has thrown Spears with a Chair and a Deathmatch king at Jericho with the specific plan in mind to wear him down and deteriorate his body for each labor. He isn't saving Gage for last when he can ravage Jericho's body right now and then put him through another labor next week with minimal time to recover. Juvi being 3 makes total sense. This has a ton of old blood and was a big time Jericho rivalry... frankly one of his first ever. And Jericho having to hit a top rope move to WIN the match after going through a deathmatch is a daunting task for a 50 year old dude on a normal day... Jericho has been put through the wringer and now has to face an old rival who I have to be honest... looks in as good of shape as he did in the 90's. Juvi looks incredible. This is perfect for the third Labor. It's not the last but it makes total sense. And then you set up a surprise for the fourth as well which I am gonna predict is Jeff Cobb since Jericho used him to try and kill Moxley the same way.

I feel like we're getting Jericho's greatest hits. Maybe we'll get high ponytail Jericho next week. Maybe Labor 4 we get Y2J. Could easily see a "Y2J"(they have a video wall and knockoff theme from Double or Nothing 2019 made already) or "Lionheart" being used for: I wonder if they're gonna use Big Show as one of the labors I called Juvi as the third labor in one of the previous threads, and I still stand by Paul Wight being the next labor. If they don't do Wight, then it'll be Lance Storm. Sammy has to be #5.

Labor #5: write and record a song that hits the mainstream and reaches #1 on the Billboard Top 40 "Folks, due to Jericho failing in his last labor, MJF is now looking for an opponent at All Out"

Anyone know what kinda shape Dean Malenko is in? I know he retired due to a heart issues. Retired in 2001, came out of retirement in 2007 for a one-off dark match with Mistico (wtf?) and hasn't wrestled since then. Heart issues since and now has Parkinson's. The only way Malenko is in a match is if he stays on the apron the entire match and comes in just to do the cloverleaf. Would also massively depend on his dyskinesia at the time of the match, would be so difficult to even advertise in advance.

Dang I knew about the heart issues and retirement in 2001 since he was a road agent for the WWE since then (and then joined AEW like last year.) didn't know about the Parkinson's... Recently, he took a light bump from an MJF punch (and the Parkinson's was made sure to be brought up to maximise the heel heat) so it's not like he's completely invalid and you can have the odd low-risk spot here and there like putting fools in the cloverleaf (I believe he's in the earlier stages). My grandad in his early stages could move about fine when his dyskinesia wasn't acting up. I have noticed Malenko in a backstage promo keep his hands in his pockets, so could have been hiding tremors (Michael J Fox would do this in his earlier stages), which is the issue, the tremors can be so unpredictable and booking would be such a pain around it. I would love so much to see the Man of 1000 Holds hit that big Malenko gutbuster on MJF, but time is a bitch.

I can get it from an audience sense that upping the ante is an important thing to do with a story and building and building to a higher crescendo but at the same time, if I were MJF, I'd probably have done the same thing because I'd want my opponent beaten as quickly as possible. Why would I want him to go through all 5 labors and have a match? I want to sit in the VIP box at the arena and watch All Out and not wrestle at all.

Wow, what star power Jericho's opponents possess. Too bad Ralphus passed away, he could be the final boss. It's not so much star power as it has been unpredictability and really fun surprises with good results Like you sit there and tell me "Jericho was gonna face Nick Gage and Juventud Guerrera in 2021... back to back weeks". Like screw "Star Power" that shit is amazing anyway lmfao. Maybe amazing that anyone would care. Enjoy it if it works for you, it does nothing for me. Different strokes I guess.

So 4 things
1) Tony Khan better call Mammoth and try to get "All The Days" at least for Chris' entrance.
2) Jericho better have that OG Juvi mask around his neck going to the ring
3) I'm guessing here, but for a finish would liontamer counter to top rope hurricanrana count as a top rope move?
4) Labor 4, is Johnny Curtis' No Compete up?

Just for the record, I hate the idea of Storm as one of the Labours because it makes no sense. Why would Lance wrestle him on MJF’s behalf? It makes more sense to do a Thrill Seeker’s reunion with MJF hoping the guy who hasn’t wrestled in 10 years is rusty and cost him the match

One little thing I did appreciate. That MJF brought up the segment all the way back in November of 2019 when Jericho mentioned Juvie and even showed the clip. I don’t how many people remembered that, but I thought that was great.

I popped I'm not gonna lie. I'll pop even louder if he comes down the ramp with his knackers out, off his nut on PCP with Tony Khan frantically trying to get him backstage while yelling cut. However, I've got a feeling the mad little bastard is going to come out looking a million bucks and twenty years younger than he has any right to and bust out a match like it's 1996 all over again.

I get the feeling Josh Barnett will be another labor now that GCW’s other big name appeared.
