Yeah there's no way they book this show 3 weeks out in this big arena. Unless Punk is going to debut. It's clear this was last minute decision made in last few weeks. Other wise this Rampage probably would have been taped Rampage.

I think the United Center might be a little big for an arena for them... guess we will see if there's a full house for the best in the world when he shows up It's not at all really. This would sell out easily if it was a ppv. For normal Dynamite/Rampage it's probably too big when they are in the same market for 3 shows a few weeks later. Normally this would do 4-5k probably. But they are counting on CM Punk debut to bring them over 10k. Anything in 11-12 range is worth it. Since other arenas they book in Now Arena or Wintrust that's capacity. If ticket sales are weak. I wonder if they announce his debut officially in advance.

If they've sold out about 12,000, there's no reason to do it right away but if it's about 6-7k, they'd probably just end up announcing it.

Other wise this Rampage probably would have been taped Rampage. And calling it "The First Dance" seems like it's preluding to a big debut. Playing off of "The Last Dance" Chicago Bulls Documentary. Attempting to fill a near 20k seat arena has to indicate that what is about to happen is the thing everyone expects to happen. Literally why else would a live Rampage be announced three weeks out in one of AEW's biggest venues attempted so far? For what is currently a one hour show unless it gets a special two hour time because it's a very special event. Couple that with the fact Khan stated the only live Rampages would be the first one and the ones before PPV events... which this is neither it's sandwiched in between both! They said Khan flew out on a Private Jet with EVP's and certain other close staffmembers to film things in the United Center as well. This is gonna be a big deal. Even if it only is an hour on TV I almost guarantee they're gonna film extra big DARK/Elevation matches for a crowd like this. Get their moneys worth and show off the arena they are going to very likely get close to selling out... and as others have said... could very well out-draw WWE... on Summerslam weekend... for what is technically AEW's second show. That'd truly be a shot fired if it happened.

Wouldn’t surprise me if they pushed off omega / Page another ppv or two.
CM Punk debuts in Chicago on August 20th and then faces Omega in Chicago at All Out. Makes to much sense.
