Yeah, should be said, this stuff isn’t new. Disney’s doing it right now with the Scarlett suit and both them and Sony were doing it to try get the PR battle for the Spider-Man movie rights split on their side. And it should also be pointed out, Bix didn’t say it was a smoking gun or anything or proof that this was some kind of mandate, it was just a funny coincidence that other reporters were told about this story and the place that put it up also were promoted by WWE talking about their Q2 results when, like, you’d want to get praise from somewhere like Variety or the Wall Street Journal, right? They’ve done WWE praising articles before and actually have credibility. Edit: Especially one that a) nobody heard of until now and b) made a mountain out of a bland and standard corporate molehill. |

Thats 3 reputable Journalists saying there is something to it.That doesnt mean they are some mastermind but seems at least they tried to stoke the fire. The ones believing any theory would be the ones believing the guy that never once reported on AEW before. |

So no one's looking for validation they're literally responding to reports from people who are and have been trustworthy in the past about stuff they've reported... so why would this be the one time that they lie? I don't think anyone inherently wants this to be true, but it doesn't look great on WWE's end. WWE’s a giant corporation that is actively doing business with an oppressive regime. I would be more surprised if they didn’t at least have a hand in starting it. It’s going to be a sweet, sweet day when Dynamite finally passes RAW in the cable ratings, though. And this stuff makes AEW’s impending dethroning of RAW even sweeter. Because, what’s so funny about all of this is that, sure, in 1991, this all may have reflected poorly on AEW and harmed them. As it stands, this has all only gotten more potential eyes on AEW. I have a buddy who hasn’t given wrestling a passing thought in 20 years text me about it to get an explanation. |

David Bixenspan (who's done a lot of good reporting in the industry) tweeted out that he was shared on a screenshot by a reporter who specializes in wrestling coverage for a mainstream publication that showed WWE had contacted them about writing a story regarding the Domino's/AEW situation. This also was heavily hinted at by Meltzer in the Observer. Also oddly enough, WWE's PR department sent out a tweet sharing an article Front Office Sports (who started this whole thing) had written about their Q2 earnings surpassing expectations. It was one of the only tweets they sent out about the story. You can set your watch to it. |

WWE's problem is only that Nick Gage simulated slicing Jericho open with a pizza cutter. If he had, say, abducted Jericho from a foreign embassy and used the pizza cutter to methodically cut him into pieces and dispose of the body, WWE would be asking to do shows with AEW right now. BAH GAWD, THAT PROMOTION HAD A FAMILY!!!!! |
