Fightful reported that AEW has recently filed a trademark for "King of Harts" for educational and entertainment purposes. My initial reaction is they're partnering with Owen's family to do a memorial tournament and/or documentary.

Owen as a legend in the game. It would make sense given Martha's well-documented (and IMHO justified) feelings about the E. She might okay Owen as an AEW legend but never in a million years as a WWE/F legend in any video game ever.

Nah it's not gonna be Owen, they're taking the big chance on Teddy Hart.

That would be amazing. I don't buy or collecting anything wrestling anymore so I'm not someone who desperately wants a Mattel toy or anything but I would love to see Martha Hart working with AEW to make something happen to get Owen's name back in a bigger company not WWE. I'm all for WWE using the newer stars to put over the legends because WWE and the newer wrestlers themselves are giving no reason for us to follow them. On the other hand AEW brings legends in and uses them to help the newer guys because AEW is giving us reason to want to get behind them. I can see why a wrestling widow would see that there is a bigger level of respect for the legends without making them the center of attention. It is a bit of irony that AEW could possibly own a WWF gimmick (King of Harts) since they were trying to own names well established before stars got to WWF/WWE (Dudley Boys, Rhodes last name). It was especially cool seeing Haku billed as King Haku, which is totally a WWF creation.

Nah it's not gonna be Owen, they're taking the big chance on Teddy Hart. The very first virtual promos and matches via zoom from jail.

Owen Hart Legends Deal I hope.
I would love an Owen figure and him as a playable character in the games.

Action figure via their deal with Jazwares, an appearance in game and other merch. The issue with Martha is with the WWE, a deal with AEW would help keep his memory alive without giving a penny to Vince.

I'd love to see if this was some sort of tribute to Owen. Could even see Bret showing up if it was, though I don't know if the relationship between the rest of the Hart family and Martha.

Why is it that Nick Gage, Juvi, Punk and Bryan barely cause a raised eyebrow for me, but THIS is my "nah, it'll never happen!" moment?

Doesn't make sense to me since AEW has no history with the Hart family.

And that Vince is chill about that is showing how something changed. 20+ years ago he'd rather die than let other companies use his trademarks. Before that even, even as you say with properties he acquired rather than created. Interesting...
