Just got woken up by another spam call from duct cleaning services. I work nights so I'd only been asleep for a few hours. These bastards are relentless even after being on the do not call list.

I have absolutely no one to talk about my depression to.
I don't have any time to see a therapist and when I try to talk to my family about and I can't tell them WHY I'm, they just guilt trip me and turn it into a pissing match to say I have no reason to be depressed...

Having to sit and wait while someone painstakingly goes over a barely legible grocery shopping receipt when I'm hungry and tired and just want lunch.

I now have hypertension. It developed very recently and today I learned that studies show a connection to getting Covid and developing hypertension. I might now have to spend the rest of my life trying to keep my heart from exploding because I live in an area where basic human decency is so lacking that people get mad when you ask them to take steps to mitigate the spread of a deadly virus. No, it didn’t kill me…..yet.
Seriously, I have a friend who’s more or less stuck at home because every time he takes a trip to town here in Hicksville, USA, he gets reinfected and has another bout. He has a severe case of long Covid now, and no one in town gives a damn.

Yanked out a grey hair out of my head today at age 36. Plenty on my chest already, but the head is new! Honestly I don't mind the color, but I wish they didn't also seem to be a different texture! I started getting grey hairs as a teenager. What made it worse was that I looked (and still look) a lot younger than I actually am, and have very dark hair, which makes it look really weird on me. I started covering them up, because otherwise people feel the need to point it out constantly as if I hadn't noticed. It absolutely boils my piss.

It’s snowing, going to snow all day. We don’t get personal days at my job, we get pto and I don’t have any accrued for the year as of now. Tomorrow is my day off, but I need to get blood work done and to take my cat to the vet, so I don’t have the option of calling out today and making up for it tomorrow. If it gets bad enough I will ask to leave early, but that will still put me out of part of a days pay. Mother Nature is like the ex from hell.

I have a form of muscular dystrophy. It certainly affected me as a kid, even though I didn’t have an official diagnosis until my own kids were diagnosed (let’s just say the understanding of the field expanded greatly over that time - thank you Jerry for relentlessly raising those funds over the years - and by the time my kids were affected their diagnoses were MD instead of the “Well, your kid is simply a wimp who needs to cowboy up and get stronger” that was my official diagnosis). Why is that relevant? Well, when I was in grade school I was part of a game of Red Robin with all of the other kids. Like the geniuses we were, we played on asphalt. I got to demonstrate for everyone why that was a bad idea. For those that don’t know, Red Robin is a game where two even teams are formed, each team lines up facing the other team, all members of the team link hands, and the teams take turns having individual members of the other team charging at the other team while trying to break the link between any two members of the opposing team. As the kids with the as yet undiagnosed MD, I was the weak link and often targeted to break my grip. I got knocked down and a chunk of my head was ripped out. We literally plugged the chunk back into the new hole in my head and it scabbed over and healed. Unfortunately, that spot got infected with something and it spread. Whatever it was, it render hair pigmentation on a large enough area inert, meaning I had a large stripe of white hair in my crimson hair starting at age 11. The stripe slowly recovered to the point it was a small patch in the back of my head by the time I graduated. My hair is all red again even at age 48, but my beard comes in as more white than red now.

The concept of "Act Your Age" (no, not the new TV show)
I don't feel like I ever got a turn to do anything enjoyable, and now "my turn", that I never got in the first place, is already over.

I had blood work done yesterday. Not looking forward to the results; I’ve been binge eating badly for the last couple months due to depression, I have no doubt my cholesterol will be bad and liver enzymes will probably be elevated. This was in preparation for a CAT scan this Saturday to assess my cardiovascular health as a follow up to my stroke from last year. I’m doing a lot of catastrophizing about what the results will end up being.
My cat also had blood drawn yesterday; she is quite old and has been vomiting and crying at night. The vet suggested thyroid issues, not at all unusual for her age. A six hundred dollar bill, I’m almost feeling like there better be thyroid issues for that kind of money.

It might be better for there to be thyroid issues as then something might be done for your cat. Negative results leads to possibly continuing to have issues and it’s not like your cat cat explain what she is feeling.

Dealing with a bad bout of depression. Spent the past few days in bed and don't have the motivation nor energy to get up because I don't see the point.

Tried playing XBox for a bit, but it's no use. Nothing's moving the needle.

People demanding information on mail that I got, and asking even more questions when I say it wasn't something I ordered. Like my birthday wasn't recently and I don't have friends who send me gifts. Sigh.

My wife got me a cocktail smoker. It came with a butane torch
And a can of butane
And I have no idea how to fill a butane torch and spilled butane everywhere
But the house didn’t catch on fire when I finally tried the torch, so I guess that is good.
