Well living is a recurring one, but today I was driving which is a fear I have recently overcame enough to get my license. Well, I'm driving down this somewhat narrow street when this jackass on a bicycle starts peddling really fast in front of me. Now, I'm trying to be thoughtful of the many "slow down" and "drive as if your kids live here" signs along the street, while this hipster looking douche is peddling like he's in the bloody tour de france or something. I just felt so much anxiety and anger as this was reason #28 why I feared driving for so long.

Mask mandates are back for restaurants in my city. I work as a dishwasher over a three sink system (no dish washing machine) so all the heat from the hot water is right in my now once again mask covered face. I was so happy to not have to deal with this anymore when things looked like they were on the upswing. Mad at this delta variant and this whole virus situation somehow bouncing back.

Made the mistake of dipping back into a fandom a little bit, after years of staying out of it for the most part, and I am regretting it.

Was making a fried egg sandwich for breakfast today. Decided I was hungry enough for 2 eggs. Cracked the first one into the pan like a pro. Cracked the second one... rotten f#%$#@#ing egg and the kitchen goes from normal to Rancid Ass smell in a quarter second.

Painted something with Hammerite, took it indoors to dry, immediately dropped it. Pissed right off.

Walmart only having a few friggin' lanes open for non-self service checkout. I know what they're trying to do, but it doesn't make it any less annoying.
Stores having the heat on the moment the thermometer drops below 70 degrees. I actually passed out in the Walmart checkout lane today, I suspect this was a contributing factor. I'm fine, just whacked my head on the floor and will prob'ly have a nice bump for a week or so. No concussion symptoms.
Minor annoyance: why do all the good over-ear headphones have to be wireless? My beloved pair of giant over-ear wired headphones decided to start dying on me the other night after quite a few years of use, and I wanted to look at a new pair since my spare pair isn't as good. Might have to shop around.

Ok so today I had to run to town to get groceries. And my town currently has a lot of people in it that evaced from Louisiana cause of Ida.
Store was packed and they had 2 registers open. And all the self check outs were set to card only. I was paying in cash. So stood in line for close to an hour. Also it was high 90s today and either the stores a/c wasn't working or was set way too high cause everybody in line was sweating.

Found out a few hours ago that my best friend from high school just died from COVID. It makes me mad on two levels. One - I’m mad at COVID from taking someone that meant so much to me. Two - I’m mad at him for being stubborn and stupid enough to refuse to get vaccinated (which probably would have kept it from killing him)

Just had to report a local grocery store to their corporate office for poor customer service during checkout for the second time. Same crap Walmart pulls, in addition to a rude manager and someone not very well-trained in bagging groceries who thought that it was OK to put cleaning supplies in with food.
Then there was the conspiracy theorist behind me at said register who took an attempt at commiserating over said poor customer service as an invitation to unload all her conspiracy theories about people and unemployment. Midway through her spiel I was mentally trying to get her to go away. Then she decided she needed to stand quite close to me and I had to keep from cringing, as I don't like when people come into my personal space without my permission.
Just an uncomfortable experience all-around. At least I didn't pass out and whack my head on the floor this time. It's still a little sore to the touch.

You know what I'm sick of hearing? About how "nobody wants to work".
Guess what? I've been working non-stop since the pandemic began. I've been having to the jobs of THREE different people, dealing with entitled asshole customers, doing shit outside of my job description, co-workers keep getting burned out, and we haven't gotten so much as a dollar added to our wage.
Meanwhile, our CEO not only blocks our wage increase, the f***er gave himself a $20 billion plus bonus.
It's not that people don't want to work. These entitled f***s just want cheap labor.

Stupid earthquakes! Normally we barely feel them in our house. That one was close/strong enough to give us a good bounce and knock over a cup in the kitchen.

My moms boyfriend said that 11 million refugees were under that bridge.
I don't care what your politics are, if you think 11 million people can fit under a bridge, you're an idiot.

I might be losing my Friday nights off. I would get Wednesdays off in return but errrrr not a fan of coming in Friday night to work. I feel this. I've got my work schedule for October and I'm working something like three Saturdays in four, 9:30 until 6pm. Yes, I know my colleagues have kids and families, but that doesn't mean that I don't also have a life outside of work, and I'm more than slightly miffed at the assumption that I don't.

An utter shitshow happened in my front yard today.
Idiot brother, who has been dragging his feet regarding moving idiot nephew out and into his "apartment" (loft above the garage that's quite literally been in progress for years), finally got someone from the power company up here to dig for the power lines going up there. He discovered the hard way that, when the house was first built, the initial power lines weren't buried as far down as they should've been. Dude ran over and severed one. I was without electricity for 6+ hours today, with idiot brother taking 2 1/2 of those hours to even provide an explanation of what happened. To top it all off, the machine they were using broke down so they weren't even able to finish and will prob'ly be back tomorrow.

I will admit up front that I was already in a mood that was going to teeter into full blown bad.
But, I bought a much needed, brand new acoustic guitar after 14 years and that made it a little better. I was excited to use it at my gig last night, where I was also going to be trying out a couple new songs to possibly add to my regular setlist.
I get to my gig (a place I play frequently), and was almost set up...when one of the bartenders walked up and asked what I was doing there.
The club double booked. They had no record of me being booked, but I had the texts confirming the date from the manager...who wasn't there.
By this point, the OTHER guy they had booked had arrived and was confused.
Now, the shitty thing about this is not only the double booking, but bars tend to just let the musicians work this shit out among themselves instead of taking responsibility for their f*** up and forming a solution. But, there wasn't even a manager there to push us that direction, because why have a manager on duty during one of your busiest nights?
So, I just packed my shit and went home. I never even had a conversation with the other guy. I was in absolutely NO mood, and he didn't do anything wrong. He probably needed the gig worse than I did, so I just said f*** it and left.
I now have it in writing that if it happens again, not only am I allowed final say about who keeps the gig, but I will still get paid my full fee regardless of my choice(previous agreement was half). So I guess that's kinda good.

I have a FedEx package that’s two days past it’s delivery date and now listed as delivery date pending and I can’t even get FedEx to respond to me on their help Twitter page. Where’s the help if they don’t respond?

Where’s the help if they don’t respond? Try commenting on one of their public posts on Facebook. It was the only way I got them to respond to me.
