I see this happening sooner than later. Anyway, do you think that when she breaks away from Eva Marie that she'll be back to being Piper Niven? I think her ring name is stupid, and I am getting a feeling that she'll do what Chad Gable did by dropping the Shorty G name and using the other name. What do you think?

I believe they are breaking up Eva and Piper come summerslam when Lilly posesses Piper and costs Eva the match.

I suspect she will use a different name when she breaks away, yes.
The whole gimmick of Eva Marie being a delusional lifestyle coach who gives other wrestlers an opportunity but they all have terrible names like Doudrop, SunRay, etc could actually be pretty funny if the booking wasn't so f***ing awful.
Taking away this stupid doll nonsense, they just never go the full distance with these gimmicks at all. Like, if I'm booking this character, I'd have her do these motivational "Take control of your life and you can be just like me!" vignettes. We haven't even seen that and it's not the performers fault at all cause they're just told to do this stupid shit.

I think she'll probably be released next year as Eva is obviously what fits the mould for this company. I just don't see a future for Doudrop with her current gimmick.

Has anyone actually called her Piper at some point? Cause if not, that's probably not a good sign.

I think she'll probably be released next year as Eva is obviously what fits the mould for this company. I just don't see a future for Doudrop with her current gimmick. IDK Doudrop has actually been the more protected one of the duo so far which makes me think she's the one who they think has more of a long term future and rightfully so since she's easily more talented although that's not saying much. It's weird with Eva in that they clearly realize she's terrible with how they how always book her to do the absolute bare minimum but yet at the same time have always been so desperate to try to make her a star. She's been given a lot of TV time and they decided to bring her back for who knows what reason but at the same time she hasn't beat anyone since she came back and has already been pinned a couple of times in the rare times she's wrestled which while I don't mind that since that's all she should be doing, it does kind of defeat the purpose of the dynamic with her and Doudrop. Eva's the one you want to see get beat up and lose while Doudrop is the one that's supposed to be preventing that from happening. However they had Eva get pinned two weeks into her return so the payoff of a face beating this arrogant heel who isn't nowhere good as she thinks and putting her in her place doesn't mean anything now since she's already lost.

They used to do stuff like this and it was a lot better for them, but that also took time, took production work, took organizing, and the writing process has become too lazy for that. Almost everything period gets filmed in the arena and if not right in fronto f the crowd then in one of like three locations; vague backstage area, the backstage interview area, or an office. Organizing a day to film a bunch of scenes with Eva talking up her 'business' and having some hired extras fart around being coached by her in various parts, maybe intercut with her in like a hotel conference room talking to a bunch of said extras at once, would anchor everything in all the ways they used to bother anchoring wrestlers to their characters. But that takes planning and you can't decide to do it two hours before Raw airs, so they just drop it entirely for everyone, and what little shreds of development anyone gets to have are all done in the most dreary and bland way possible. They used to do this. They know how to do this. That's one of the most frustrating parts. They don't care about doing it anymore, and haven't since long before the pandemic gave them a justifiable reason to be hunkered down.

With that I always point to and this is like a decade old at this point but it's been going on for that long... The Million Dollar Man vs. Ted Jr. MDM they went and had all sorts of vignettes of him out and spending his money in assholish ways... making a public pool a private one, going to the jeweler for the Million Dollar Title... etc.. not to mention the in stadium stuff like the bounce the ball 10 times I'll give you 100 bucks... Ted Jr... he had the Million Dollar Title, one time he bought a guys eyeball for some reason, and Michael Cole would talk about how much money he had... but we never saw it. which reminds me of Mick's statement from his first book when talking about a gimmick "Crack the whip every once and a while or the audience will know that you can't"

Like, I haven't seen any of Eva Marie's scenes, but I'm going to take a guess that she doesn't have one of those microphone and earpiece things that a lot of speakers are typically seen wearing, which would be way easier and more noticeable than a lav mic and an acceptable break from modernity because it's a signifier. There's things they can do to enrich a character. They don't do them. Wrestlers show up, they say what they are, and no effort is put in on the production end to making that mean anything. Accessories. Vignettes. Character moments. Everything is done as lazily as it possibly can and it's dragged down everything around it. WWE is supposed to be all about the pageantry, but they have stripped away so much of the fundamental pageantry of their style over the past couple decades and watered it down until they can't even do characters right anymore.

This would be the perfect way to debut Aliyah on Raw. Eva is scheduled to face Doudrop in another match on Monday, but what if Eva brought in another sexy minion to take her place and continue the Eva-Lution even further? Aliyah and Eva seem like a good pairing as far as that goes anyway.

I don't think they'll ever call her Piper because of the WWE obsession with not having similar names. Vince: "We can't have people confusing her with Roddy Piper!" type of bullshit.
