So, am I the only one who thinks it's just gonna be the announcement of Punk coming in, and not his actual appearance? I think it would make more sense to have him appear first at the ppv. Punk is showing up tonight. No chance they would book Chicago on short notice and drop every hint imaginable that he'll show up only for it to be a bait and switch. They'd lose fans, a lot of them, if they did that. |

So, am I the only one who thinks it's just gonna be the announcement of Punk coming in, and not his actual appearance? I think it would make more sense to have him appear first at the ppv. They booked an arena that has now become their biggest crowd in the companies history due to the amount of tickets sold (Until Arthur Ashe happens). This isn't Kurt Angle to the Impact Zone... that crowd is expecting to at least see the guy and to see that entrance and that Pop. Him being announced for his first match at the PPV is gonna do more than enough for the Pay Per View. Him promoting the match and potentially appearing on Dynamite to lead into All Out is going to do a lot for the eyes and intrigue of the product to new viewers. Hell we have new AEW watchers saying this is the first AEW show they're going to watch simply because of Punk here on FAN alone. Some people who haven't been watching any constant wrestling in years. This is very important for the company. I imagine they're gonna deliver big time when they're in front of a crowd like this and with potentially the highest TV viewership numbers since their debut on TV if not more. Maybe other crazy stuff will happen in the hour? But AEW knows what it has to do. |

Still hard to believe this is happening. Excited for Rampage tonight. CM Punk comes out yelling "It's slobberin' time!" because he's embraced the 24-hour petplay lifestyle and will be acting like a dog, because that is what he feels most comfortable as.  |

I still don't even care that much for Punk, but you're damned right I'm excited for this, if only that it is very much the biggest blow to the WWE's dominance in the North American mainstream since Moxley's debut at their first PPV. I WANT the alternatives to succeed, because then perhaps the WWE will stop being so damned lazy and actually start giving a damn about their product again.

The pop would have been huge anywhere. But you don’t rent out the United Center just to announce his arrival. If there’s gonna be an announcement. He’s gonna show up and make the announcement himself. |

I was thinking to myself “when was the last time I was so hyped for something in wrestling?” And..I really think it was WMX7. Which is, like, my wrestling benchmark and arguably one of the best wrassling PPVs of all time. Seems kind of silly a guy walking out and figuratively pointing at Darby and pointing at an All Out sign can compare, but, it’s wrestling, so, screw it |
