The tower could have been weak and needing repair. And the university banned ringing the bell until repairs were done which is why it was such a dare for her to find a way to ring it. Kate just either didnt know the reason for the ban or didnt think anything would actually happen. maybe., but where was the scaffolding and the pedestrian walk barriers! Health and Safety nightmare this college!! You should see how many things need serious repair at LSU and have no work being done at all, just the building closed and some paper signs saying stay out. Tower was not in immediate danger of collapse so no repairs were underway until a rich alumnus ponyed up the money. Tower was closed from below until it could be repaired. Lack of any work being done helped convince students that it would be okay to ring the bell if they could find a way leading to Kates dare. Heck the snap could have put lots of things needing repair on the back burner while they get dorms classrooms back into service.

I bet {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Kingpin will appear on the week of No Way Home's Release (hell the international release is the 15th, the very day episode five drops), given the reports that Charlie Cox cameos as Matt Murdock in the movie

You know what, the snap!. totally forgot about that. yeah, 5 years without any maintenance would bring things down a bit, the weeds growing through the brickwork alone would have been enough to weaken the supporting walls of the arch. ok, I'm back on board.

It's all right so far. I have yet to connect with a D+ MCU show as much as Wandavision, and even that comes with the asterisk of That Ending.

I enjoyed it. Moved along pretty briskly. Thankful Disney don’t appear to be doing 60/70 min plus episodes or whatever
Hawkeye saying he wouldn’t wear a flashy costume. Might want to check with someone buddy because the picture of you in the Disney plus menu select begs to differ ha

Not out of the realm of possibility plus there's some buildings that still have the skeletons of its Revolutionary War skeletons

Right? It’s fun as hell and not much filler like there’s been in previous D+ shows.

I can't be the only one who remembered the end theme from Patchwork Family.

3rd episode felt like a big improvement. Leaning into the trick arrows was fun. Still really don't loving Kate Bishop, but it's getting better. Really enjoyed Echo though.

Funny as I am remembering a Toyfare spoof where Green Arrow is shooting off his gimmick arrows, then Hawkeye kills him with one of his and says, "Try an ARROW arrow."

That might be its biggest strength. We know the stakes. There’s a ticking clock. Hawkeye is continually feeling the pressure. It makes the passage of time meaningful.

He needs to knit those sweaters dammit!

So with all this talk about kingpin and possible tying in the netflix shows made me wonder. Has there been any real refernces or connections between the disney plus shows yet? With the exception of loki we know they all take place in the same universe but nothing has really been mentioned about Scarlett witch basically enslaving a town or two new Captain Americas?

I wanna say it’s a staggered time line, but damned if I can remember how it goes. EDIT: Falcon and Winter Soldier takes place 6 months after Endgame, Hawkeye is apparently 2 years after Endgame. So the “two Caps” thing would be old news. Not sure when Wandavision takes place

This brings up an interesting point. I get that Marvel was intentionally loose with the timeline while they decided how to set things up but they locked down the timeline years ago. Yet, you basically have to do research to figure out where some of these movies and shows slot it. I really wish they were a little more on point with publicising where new shows fit in, hell the bit about Hawkeye being 2 years after endgame was a quote from the show runner.

I have to say that I’m pleasantly surprised by this show. Making Kate the focus was the way to go, loving the character. Echo is awesome too.
Would not be surprised if we get Kingpin showing up soon. Still need to watch Daredevil, I started the first couple episodes when It came out but never got the chance to continue.
