This past Monday, The Miz was not present at Monday Night Raw for his scheduled match against John Morrison. The reason for that absence looks to be that Miz will be making a major entertainment crossover appearance later this month. PWInsider.com can exclusively confirm that The Miz has been cast in the forthcoming season of ABC's Dancing with The Stars. The 30th season of the ABC reality competition series is slated to debut on 9/30, so the cast should be officially announced in the weeks ahead. Singer Jojo Siwa has already been revealed for the series. The Miz, Mike Mizanin, 40, recently celebrated the 15th anniversary of his WWE debut after initially gaining national exposure on MTV's The Real World. Over the course of his career, Miz has been a major player for the company, headlining Wrestlemania 27, becoming both a WWE Triple Crown and Grand Slam Champion and has been a tremendous representative for WWE for media appearances. Outside of the ring, Miz has starred in several WWE Studios films, including numerous entries in The Marine franchise as well as his own Miz & Mrs. reality series alongside his wife Maryse. In the past, Nikki Bella, Chris Jericho and Stacy Keibler have competed on Dancing with the Stars while affiliated with WWE. ------ Well, at least Monday's absence wasn't about covid I guess. Still...

This isn't surprising. A lot of Miz's value to the company is appearances in stuff like this, so regardless of how long he lasts on the show, he'll be effective in getting the brand attention.

Sounds like he's preparing for post-WWE life.

30th season? I didn't realize this show ran in the 90's. 1991 is a long time running for them.

Sounds like he's preparing for post-WWE life. I wonder if he wants to do some non WWE movies. He is not terrible and with some good direction he could pull a lead role in a non WWE film off.

I suspect he wants to raise his profile because he’s been gunning for the Johnny Cage role in the sequel to the new Mortal Kombat.

Doesn't this run against RAW? yeah usually on Monday and Tuesday. But they let Nikki Bella do it, so I don't think they care much.

They will let their talent legit steal viewers to another channel during their live programming. Yet, they won't let talent Twitch on their off days which essentially isn't competiting at all with their television. Idiots...

True, it just feels like Miz is always on TV and has become a guy that WWE calls on alot for different stuff. So not having him for however long just feels weird I guess

I'm hoping Miz wins it just so he can run with it as a go to heat seeking catch phrase

Otherwise, they've let him go for months at a time to film Marine movies, hell he was IC champ during one of those hiatuses. It does undercut Morrison a bit, unfortunately.

Possibly, I agree he's not a terrible actor and it COULD be that he's looking ahead. Then again I could be over-thinking his appearance lol.

To make the crossover more complete, they should give JoJo Siwa a match on Raw.
