It's nice to hear with all the talk or worry of "MMA people" coming in that the end goal is to try and get Sky and Page over as an act That SHOULD be the goal. Good that's what they want to do.

I’ve gone from not caring/not interested in this whole thing to, I cant say love it, but at least somewhat entertained and don’t mind seeing how it all plays out. I hope VanZant sticks around.

Some highlights from Dan Lambert, Jorge Masvidal and Junior Dos Santos on Ariel Helwani’s “The MMA Hour”:
Pretty cool, heartwarming and adorbs. ‘Specially that last bit from Dos Santos.

I really like this interview and it really shows why this instance of MMA in wrestling feels so different. These guys love it and they WANT to be here and contribute to AEW. Not only that but they want to actually train and improve out there like Dos Santos. Dude comes off extremely humble in this interview and it makes you want to see him succeed. And I can tell Lambert is a huge fan of wrestling... because the dude's one of the best crowd workers in the company. You can argue his shtick is "Cornette-lite" if you want, but the dude's just really good at his gimmick. When you can barely get a word in without the crowd vehemently starting to boo you and cheer the faces? That's some talent.

I'm never gonna complain about crossover attempts and celeb appearances freom people who actually give a shit. Not once in my life. The people who really care, either like Lambert who have always been fans and treat what they're doing with love, or a guy like Dos Santos who finds himself having a blast in a weird new world that he respects the hard work of, will make their care shine through on-screen.

Which makes me wonder how to feel about the whole Cain Velasquez saga. He seemed to enjoy what he was doing in AAA, and probably could have kept doing that in AEW if he wanted. But WWE bid ludicrous amounts for him and then forced him to be Boring MMA Man, and then did f***-all with him.

Absolutely. I just don't know if I should feel bad for Cain for how WWE used him, or if it's a case of "Well, you knew what you were signing up for when you made your choice..."

Normally I'd say that you probably know what you're getting into, but their treatment of Cain by bringing him in, jobbing him out to Lesnar in a hilariously brief 'avenge the loss' situation that nobody even cared about because it happened on a Saudi show, and then booting him out months later, was the kind of insano shit someone would joke about WWE doing but never actually imagine.

I guess where I ultimately fall on it is, maybe he should have been more cautious of WWE's f***ery, but I feel bad if it soured him on professional wrestling in general.

I've come around on it, to be honest. If nothing else its the best use of crossover active MMA athletes in wrestling history, not counting MMA athletes who were professional wrestlers first.
I'm really hoping the Inner Circle can recruit a female wrestler so PVZ can get some in ring showcase in too. Rosa seems like the most ideal fit- she's had pro MMA fights too.

That's a very good idea and her look fits in well with the Inner Circle's horror/heavy metal esthetic. And yeah I know most (myself included) would be thinking at first "Well Rosa's over enough on her own she doesn't need to be part of a stable.", but as AEW has shown us just because you're part of a faction doesn't mean you can't branch off and do your own thing as well.

Exactly, it can even be a 'let's team up for this one night only' type of deal. Plus the thought of Rosa coming out with half her face painted like PnP's Dead Presidents makeup seems just super f***ing cool.

The angle's still not doing a lot for me personally, but damn are the live crowds into it and Lambert is the best heat magnet on tv right now. Paige VanZant is also a natural performer.

I thought the tag match the other week was decent, people seem into the whole thing, maybe it's not so bad, maybe I'll give the promos a chance this week ...
What do I get? Homophobia.
Back to be being the only thing I auto fast-forward.
