Nah, I can see him just going back to Impact. It's the only place I can see him being champion like his wife believes he should be.

I think someone like Sonny Kiss would kill to be getting misused every week on Dynamite like Brian Cage is.
I like Brian, and I hugely respect his willingness to put over Jordynne Grace, even if I generally avoid learning about his real life beliefs because the hints I do hear are just terrible. But this is utter horseshit, and the only time I see him getting less over is due to his own mic work shortcomings and some weird booking choices in segments which, based on how people talk about how AEW works, are mainly on him and/or the rest of the Team Taz guys to lay out.

It doesn't help him that they've padded out this feud with Starks and Team Taz far too long. Should've been over weeks ago. Team Taz are already moving onto Punk before the Cage/Starks blowoff.
I dunno. He's a great wrestler. He can't talk for shit. He doesn't have a mouthpiece anymore. He is most likely gonna be the first casualty of all the recent signings. But he's gotten a fair shake at getting over enough not to find himself in this position. Like others have said, every member of Team Taz is more over than him. Hook hasn't even wrestled and he's getting better reactions!!
And when you're in AEW, where so much of the creative leeway rests with the wrestlers, who's the biggest part of the problem that you're not getting as much exposure as you'd like?

he's in a decent spot...
they trusted him enough to powerbomb Sting! -- obviously they like him

If he's not happy he should leave. I'm sure they would let him. He's been upper mid-card the entire time, got a paycheck during a pandemic, and worked with STING for Sting's first AEW feud. Worked himself into a shooter, brother.

It doesn’t quite change the topic title but should be clarified. I still think Brian's doing and done much more than most. The guys not a current champion but he stands out and has been presented as a threat. And protected thoroughly as his last two losses were heavy interference.

Thats not helping at all.... Archer's been the furthest from misused. I know he lost his TNT and World title matches but he GOT those matches. He is and has been heavily featured on cards. He beat Moxley in the Texas Deathmatch to win the IWGP US Title. Then he defended it successfully vs Hikuleo. He's main evented multiple Dynamite's. Cage as others have said has also had big moments and wins. He's also main evented multiple Dynamites. He has shortcomings in the promo and charisma department and would do better with a mouthpiece. I just wouldn't call him "misused". Hell his last two match losses are due to him getting clocked in the face with a belt. Yeah I'm sure Archer thinks he's suffering since he did so much better in Impact and WWE. Like Cage bruh, shut the f*** up man. lol.

Cage's run to the Impact championship was great. As champ he was mostly injured, and his promo work began to be shown up.

Cage is technically fine but I just cannot bring myself to give a damn about him.

It doesn’t quite change the topic title but should be clarified. Melissa pretty much said in the video that Cage is misused.

I thought he'd been used excellently.
Looks really strong in the mid card, would be completely believable slotted into a main event run when the time comes.
I haven't seen the promo skills to suggest he would be a good long term champ or a face of the company, but I think she's protesting way too much here.

I think it takes more creativity and talent to avoid the obvious booking of a guy like Brian Cage than playing into the tropes and stereotypes. Like, I get it, but I don't want Brock Lesnar-lite. WWE does that shit all the time with booking big guys to be monster heels running through the roster, give me something different. And AEW's doing something different.

Brian and Melissa are being idiots about this. If Brian unhappy he should go talk to Tony Khan. Then Tony can tell him what he needs to improve on to get on Dynamite/Rampage more. If Cage disagrees and not happy with his spot. Well he can always ask for his release.
I'm sure Cage felt when he came to AEW. That since he was big strong guy who could do cool moves. That he would be made top guy in major company. Well reality AEW roster is stacked and so many guys will get on tv every week. Cage isn't more over then Punk, Mox, Jericho, MJF, Cody, Danielson, Hangman, Darby, Sting, Black, Cole, Omega and Christian. Heck he probably isn't more over then Kingston, Orange Cassidy or Miro either. So he's in tier of guys who are only going to wrestle on tv every six weeks or so.
With rest of time being short promos or segments on Dynamite/Rampage and matches on Dark/Elevation. Unless Brian Cage figures something out promo and character wise. He's not going to he pushed any differently. He's in the wrong company if he thinks he's going to get pushed because of his body. If I were Tony Khan I would say hey bud do you want you're release? If he says no? Then I'd say shut up then and earn more tv time.
The company has tons of momentum right now. There's tons of talent still out there and more coming available that would like his spot in AEW. He's stupid to complain about his spot right now. He looks really selfish when company is doing record things. I actually like him but speaking out like this pisses me off. So I'd say go back to being big fish in small pond in Impact. Or see if WWE will take him and make him change his in-ring style. Along with likely making him take drug tests. So he can take those options or shut up and get better. Then earn a better spot.

It was going to happen eventually that we were going to start hearing complaints from talent on how they're used. I just don't see anyone clambering for a big Brian Cage slot on the card when there's so much top level talent already on the show. He's good, but he's not that good. I think he's been treated fairly well all things considered. I mean, they even brought in a title belt specifically for him.
Also being big, and agile in the ring, is not the same as being Brock Lesnar.

He’d be better in WWE. He’s good but with so many huge names in AEW right now I don’t ever see him in a big spot in AEW.

Cage would probably have a higher card spot in TNA, but right now I can't say I'd put him above anyone else in the pecking order, and would absoltuely pace a lot of people getting less than he does up above him. This is just the worst roster for him to want to move up in.

He’d be better in WWE. He’s good but with so many huge names in AEW right now I don’t ever see him in a big spot in AEW. WWE wouldn't allow him to do all his moves and change his in-ring style. He wouldn't be happy there either. He also doesn't have charisma and promo skills. So he wouldn't be in better spot there either. Look at Keith Lee.

This is just the worst roster for him to want to move up in. Yeah unless he gets better in promos and adds more to his character. He's not going to have higher spot elsewhere. Impact is only place maybe. But if they add someone like Braun. Well he's going to be less impressive there.
