Where have you heard or seen that? Can't pull anything up on Google that backs that up Cage is buddies with Drake Wuartz and Joey Ryan. That's pretty shitty company, but that still feels like awfully thin evidence to use for putting out a pretty serious accusation about what sort of views he holds.

I have already said but to repeat IMO Cage is always going to have a ceiling on him in any company that emphasises the in-ring over character and story and evidence is in the companies he has thrived in. He would absoloutley thrive in NXT....then he gets the main roster and he would completely falls into Karrion Kross territory. Cage main issue is charisma and storytelling in ring, you need something that makes up for it But he has thrived ,he has done well,he just is an lower tier than main event. Like his matches with Stark,Darby Sting are really freaking good and the stories well received That's the thing when you have Punk, Mox, Jericho, Cody, MJF, Black, Darby, Sting, Hangman, Danielson,Omega, Christian, Miro and guys like that. A guy who lacks charisma and good promo skills. Isn't going to get on tv over those guys. Like I get he's huge and does cool moves. So in his mind he's like I'm just as good as those guys. I should be getting title feuds with Omega etc. But I'm sure data clearly shows he's nowhere over as those guys. So instead of him and his wife complaining on Twitter. He should come up with some better promos and changes to his character. Along with pitching some storyline ideas. Then have sit down with Tony. And say hey I know I'm not as over as some other guys right now. But I feel if given a shot I could be just as over. Then say hey when I'm on Dark or Elevation can I cut promo after or before my match. Or can my character start doing this or that. If it works and it's good you know Tony Khan will go with it on tv. But instead he just wants better spot because he's got big muscles and does cool moves. Seems like pretty shitty attitudes. I hope Tony Khan bitched him out about all this today. I'd say shut up and earn your spot. Or enjoy your future endeavors. Because there's plenty of time on Dark or Elevation for guys to develop and get better on things.

He seems to be forgetting that his wife actually posted a video moaning about him being misused. The f*** is he talking about? If you publicly share an opinion the way they did then it means you're promoting it to the masses. Just because they didn't write it doesn't remove intent to spread the word.

He seems to be forgetting that his wife actually posted a video moaning about him being misused. Yeah "Melissa didn't say anything" holds no weight here. She posted a video and replied to several tweets echoing the sentiment. Posting the sentiment also promotes the idea and gives it traction which basically is doing the very thing of spreading the viewpoint. If I were Brian I'd be telling her to cool it. If he wants to be used more than talk to Khan and such about it too. It's not like wrestlers don't have an open dialogue in the back from all we've heard. Crying about it on Twitter is usually never the answer for success though. Cage has never been known to be the sharpest tool in the shed and it's sure prevalent tonight

It was bound to happen, that someone would complain about their spot. It won't be the last. Personally for me, he was the only member of team Taz that I liked. He doesn't have a ton of personality, but with a good manager he would be fine. I think besides Miro and Wardlow he may be the best big man they got. Head and shoulders above Luchasaurus and Hager. He would be a better fit in WWE. I guess it was, but he only has himself to blame. It's not like he's way more over then guys who are getting the spot he wants. He feels like he deserves top spot because he's got big muscles and does cool moves. But this isn't Impact watched by 100,000 people or whatever. AEW trying to grow and be at WWE level with ratings and live gates. So Tony Khan is going to put on tv the guys who draw the best. In a company that has so many big stars he needs to earn his spot and he rather bitch about it. To me he's coming off very selfish. In WWE I can understand why people get frustrated if not being used. That's because they sit at home or in catering. While creative pitches are ignored and you have very little control. But in AEW you come up with your own stuff. While Tony Khan will list. You got Dark and Elevation to prove yourself and show you can do more. Brian Cage wrestled 20 matches on Dark and Elevation this year. He's done nothing to improve on his character or tried to cut any new promos. He just goes in and has matches and expects more. Those shows are there for a reason and if you do cool stuff on it. Tony will say oh I gotta put Cage on Dynamite and in feud with this guy.

Also Brian Cage is 23-6 this year. He was 15-4 last year. And like half of his losses were and have been heavily protected.
He's just been incredibly looked after on the brand. He's not in a top star role RIGHT NOW but he's been kept warm for it and is still feuding with Starks. Faces usually prevail in a feud where they're being screwed at every turn too. Like to me Cage is being used really well for what he is.
He also as I said just turned face like this month. The crowds have been receptive to it. But christ you gotta let the story play out. Just because you don't have a title doesn't mean you aren't important to the company and it feels like the wife is missing that point.

This reminds me of something that happened at DC Comics years ago. Renae De Liz had this awesome Wonder Woman alternate continuity series going...and then her husband (and inker) mouthed off on Twitter about a Wonder Woman side project with a premise similar to one of her pitches being done by a different creative team. (Never mind that De Liz's alternate continuity was empirically a bigger deal than that side project, which made the whole thing look petty.) It's the sort of thing where he wasn't wrong, per se, but complaining about it on Twitter was a Bad Look. It's the sort of thing where it's a fair view from a fan, but just plain tacky coming from a coworker who's doing quite well regardless.
This resulted in the cancellation of De Liz's Wonder Woman continuity, something I am enduringly salty about.

He seems to be forgetting that his wife actually posted a video moaning about him being misused. Yeah he clearly is getting some heat over this. He's trying to back track and cover his ass now. His wife made video and found misused Brian Cage tweet to share. He's clearly mad about his spot and was hoping be out cry of support. Which will lead to Tony Khan using him in some bigger things. Since he knows things aren't going to get better for him with all new talent coming in. But instead he came off selfish and unprofessional. Now he's probably getting worried about losing his job. So he's back tracking just saying his wife just shared random tweet to support her husband. While trying to pretend nothing else happen. I know I liked Cage before today. But all this made me lose a lot of respect for him.

I know this might be a minority view, but I wonder if he would be a guy better off in WWE? WWE actually had him on a developmental contract back in '08. They fired him in September of '09. Not sure they'd want him back.

His loses to Darby, Page, Starks and Hobbs all were protected. Either with distraction or inference. In 2020 only singles loss happen with Moxley in protected loss with Tazz throwing in towel. He feuded with Sting/Darby and Hangman this year(even has win over Page). Yes things slowed up last few months with him vs Team Tazz stuff. Now with new guys coming in. He has to know he's far from main event scene that he wants to be in. So he's acting out and being all selfish. Tony Khan clearly values him and keeping him protected. But he's just not clicking so he's likely getting passed over for stuff. But that's on him and get himself more over. Based off AEW roster he's been used well. He's just not better then a lot of guys in front of him right now.

It's just the luck of the process in a company that seems to be as close to a meritocracy as you can get without turning it into shoot fights.

Would any of us even be talking so much about his shortcomings if not for this batch of tweets? I feel like the general response to the Cage/Team Taz feud has been "Yes, this is proceeding as expected and it's pretty good." Sentiments like "Cage could be doing better than this" and "Cage can't cut it so he's stuck" and "Cage needs to work on his promos if he wants a push" weren't really cropping up independently here, at least in my observations. I've perceived him as getting used well in the early stages of a major feud, and don't remember any substantial argument to the contrary.
Dunno if similar conversations are happening anywhere else, but it sure feels like Santos's complaints are mainly making people stop and think about whether Cage should be used better...and generating a whole lot of reasons why the answer is "not really."

But man how much ego you have you think"I should be booked like Brock Lesnar, that sounds right"

(That back tattoo helps, though...)

Because the next logical step is to ask "OK, well, who is getting pushed right now that should be moved aside to allow for more time for Cage?". And the answer to that is nobody, at least as I see it. So he's just gotta sit tight.

Plus they just had Suzuki in the show You need to be able to out-intimidate Suzuki to fill that role

Not sure they'd want him back. Yeah, and they were wishy washy about bringing him in 2018 for a tryout. Johnny Ace flat out had told people he didn't like Brian Cage's attitude. Tony Khan signed him when he was injured, and paid him for 5 months as he healed. Brian Cage pinned Hangman Page. He was the centerpiece of Team Taz. And IMO he deserved none of it. I didnt like when they signed him, because I knew he would be trouble for them one day, and here it is.

They should be booking Cage in a Scott Steiner like run with the World title. Complete with nonsensical rambling promos and weird shit like coming to the ring with a tiger. They can have Natalia Markova be his Midajah.
