Everyone’s been freaking out about main event diversity and it only took them a little over 4 years to get to a non white champion Please don't tell me you're acting like this is an achievement.

Is it a grand achievement? No, but I think Jericho, Mox, Kenny, Hangman, Punk, and MJF all deserved the title first. Sure Max’s reign went a little longer than it should have, but everything will be fine. Joe is champ right now and Swerve will likely be champ next year

4 years and 363 days if we're nitpicking. Jericho, Moxley, and Omega as the first three champs which take up the first two years were the right choices due to their WWE & NJPW pedigree and the company's youth, had Lashley been a free agent in 2019 he'd have probably been one of those early champs but he wasn't so that's that. After Omega choices for champ get a bit more complicated and controversial...

MJF was our first AEW World Champ from a marginalized community as a Jewish man. Samoa Joe is our first PoC and Pacific Islander AEW World Champ.
And I really think it's when and not if Swerve will be our first Black AEW World Champ.

If Someone like Lashley or Big E came in instead of Punk, they absolutely would of been world champs

I wouldn't call it an achievement, but I would note that it's not exactly like ROH and TNA having Low Ki and Ron Killings, respectively, as some of their first champions is especially the norm in North American wrestling. Then again, MLW did have Satoshi Kojima in its first run, and then Swerve after it started back up, so it's not like TNA and ROH were alone in it, either. Though, now I'm sort of wondering if the other three have had any Jewish champions yet.

As far as I can see, Raven is the only Jewish World Champion TNA/Impact's ever had when he was NWA World Champion in 2005. I don't think a single Jewish person has held the ROH World Championship either.

Oh duh, Raven, of course. Yeah, good on TNA on that front, even if they royally f***ed him over as champion. And yeah, which is such bullshit considering Colt Cabana really should have at various points.

I do think it's important to both consider the diversity of the main event scene (which does matter a lot) and the actual booking as well. NWA-TNA made Ron Killings their world champion very early on which is great but when you go back and watch the product - they did some...racially questionable angles...

Same with Matt Sydal, though he was an X Division Champ in Impact and something called the Grand Champion.

Crazy about Colt considering how much of a mainstay he was in ROH.

It's the one that had previously been the "Legends" title that Booker T gave himself, which later became the Grand championship, and then the TV title, and eventually was just rendered defunct. So, basically their low tier title even if some big names did win it at various points.

As for WWE, I know of at least Goldberg and Randy Savage.

Swerve time is coming soon
They let him show emotion in the ring and solidify his face/tweener run
He should be up next
