Little late here but as a Fins fan just wanted to give perspective in Flo.
1)while teams improved as the year went on he we were awful each year till basically midway through the season. Now I'll give some slack for year 1 due to the overhaul of the roster but the last 2 years we dug a hole we couldn't get out at the end.
2)For as good as the defense could be, he just didn't get offense. In 3 seasons we had 4 different OCs, 4 OL coaches and constant staff shuffling. The OL was historically bad this year and a lot of that is due to his decisions on the staff.
So while I dunno if I would have fired him I do think he is being put on somewhat of a higher pedestal than he should be.

As a fellow fan I completely agree on this take, the shuffling of his offensive staff indicates he does have issues with maintaining relationships and when you look at the people he was bringing in as replacements this year it also seems like he had trouble attracting high quality staff for those positions. I think he has it in him to be a very good coach in this league but he does have to get better at that aspect since he doesn't seem to have a feel for offense himself and needs good assistants and stability on that part of his staff to compensate for that.

I do this every year, and I usually whiff spectacularly on each of my predictions, but it's fun to look back on over the years, so what the heck. There are eight head coaching vacancies in the NFL, and here are how I expect them to be filled in the coming days and weeks.
(the asterisk indicates the team has an interim head coach)
Chicago Bears: Nathaniel Hackett (current position: Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator) - Whoever the Bears hire, it needs to be an offensive-minded coach to help guide along Justin Fields and ensure his career continues to trend upwards, and Hackett feels like a good place to start. He got the absolute most out of Blake Bortles while he was in Jacksonville from 2015 to 2018, and has now paired well with the perennially difficult Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. And, with this hire, the Bears get to steal away a coordinator from a divisional rival.
Denver Broncos: Eric Bieniemy (current position: Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator) - It's been long past time for Bieniemy to get a head coaching gig, and I think he finally lands it in Denver. The Broncos are a stable job, with a talented roster that is a quarterback away from really contending in the AFC. They just need someone to be the captain of the ship and Bieniemy has proven himself worthy during his tenure leading the Chiefs' offense to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances.
Houston Texans: Brian Flores (previous position: Miami Dolphins head coach) - This feels like the biggest lay-up of them all. Flores is an in-demand coaching prospect, and he has deep ties to those in positions of power in Houston, namely executive vice president Jack Easterby and general manager Nick Caserio, both of whom were in New England while Flores worked his way from a scouting assistant all the way to a Super Bowl-winning linebackers coach and de facto defensive coordinator.
Jacksonville Jaguars*: Byron Leftwich (current position: Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator) - Like Flores to Houston, this makes all too much sense. It would be a homecoming for Leftwich, who quarterbacked the Jaguars for four seasons, and could serve a valuable role as a coach and mentor to fellow first-round pick Trevor Lawrence. The only thing that would get in the way of this obvious hire is the Khans propensity to absolutely fumble everything relating to the Jaguars franchise.
Las Vegas Raiders*: Rich Bisaccia (current position: Las Vegas Raiders interim head coach) - He's not the sexy name the Raiders franchise traditionally hires, but Bisaccia got the absolute most out of the 2021 Raiders and was the steady leadership the organization desperately needed when things could have spiraled into total dysfunction following the Jon Gruden fiasco, the Henry Ruggs fatal DUI, and Damon Arnette's release. He's earned a full-time gig in Vegas.
Miami Dolphins: Mike McDaniel (current position: San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator) - This is a tough one to figure out, because the coaching search is going to settle on who works well with general manager Chris Greir, who won a power struggle with Brian Flores earlier this month. Grier's previous two hires have been Adam Gase and Brian Flores, so he clearly likes young coaches with no head coaching experience, and McDaniel fits that mold.
Minnesota Vikings: Kellen Moore (current position: Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator) - The Vikings need an offensive-minded head coach to get the last drops of talent out of Kirk Cousins before there's turnover at the quarterback position, and Moore is the young coach who could bridge the transition between Cousins and the Vikings quarterback of the next generation.
New York Giants: Leslie Frazier (current position: Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator) - Like Bisaccia in Las Vegas, it's not the glamorous name that will light up the back pages of the tabloids, but it's the adult in the room that the Giants need. There needs to be a leader who'll take responsibility and get the most out of his players, and that could be the experienced Frazier, who turned the Vikings into contenders last decade.

If Leftwich coaches the Jags, would that be the first time a first round pick later went on to coach the same team that drafted him?
It probably has happened, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

So far the only person scheduled for a second interview to be the next Jags coach is Matt Eberflus, Colt DC. Shad Khan is actually coming to Indy to have that interview, though to be fair that's a shorter commute than to have the interview in Jacksonville (Khan lives in Illinois). Edit: He's also a finalist for the Bears job, apparently.

Not surprising that the guy basically brought in as Gruden's puppet GM gets fired after the season Gruden "resigns."

Bears fans, I don't pay a lot of attention to how your organization is actually ran from the top down. Is there a reason, directly related to their dynamics, that Colts' assistant GM Ed Dodds withdrew himself for consideration for their open GM position?
Admittedly, he might have some reason to feel like the organization was so poorly ran that it's a deep hole to dig out of as well. That's supposedly the reason he allegedly rejected a job offer last offseason. He also might feel as though the Raiders' job is his to lose and that there is more to build with there.

Happy 20th anniversary to the tuck rule game. I know the tuck rule gets most of the attention but what shouldn't be forgotten is Adam Vinatieri kicking the two greatest field goals in te history of the game. What a way to close the greatest high school stadium in the NFL.
