All Purpose Persona Thread

[Cry Me a Lizuka #BLM]

Came out on September 15th, 2016 in Japan.

Crazy to think it's been this long. I dabbled with it beforehand but I only actually first really played it when Joker was announced for Smash Bros. Wound up quickly falling in love with it though, since then I've done most of another playthrough of vanilla and two playthroughs of Royal.

Edit: Been using it this way forever, might as well commit to it.

Great game. I am tempted to replay it. But I remember the start being a bit of a slog with a few hours where you cant save, which puts me off.

Finally finished my second playthrough of Royal, third playthrough overall. Just need to beat Strikers now. Hopefully get an update soon on more Persona's.

I really need to focus more on Strikers. I've really had trouble getting into it, I think it's that the cutscene heavy nature of it mixes poorly with the Warriors gameplay style.

Fantastic game! Cleared it, Royal, and Strikers. When I've finished replaying odd chapters of Neo: TWEWTY to get stuff I'm missing, I might go back for another Royal playthrough.

If I ever get a tuxedo cat, it's being named Morgana.

The first game on release was the thing that got me through my first year in Ireland so I'm grateful for that.

Royal got me through the pandemic when I was basically stuck at my parents' place so I'm REALLY grateful for that.

Strikers was somehow the one that had, like, no real motivation for me to play it besides that I need to play as those goofballs one more time.

Not sure I'll replay any of them but I am sort of tempted to try and finish off my Persona 5 game that I left about after the Akechi fight because I was nervous about the amount of SP items I had.

Part of me's wondered about getting back to my aborted second playthrough of vanilla. Left off just before the sixth palace trying to beat the twins, mostly due to the impending release of Royal, but then I beat both them and Lavenza in Royal so doesn't really matter I guess.

Yeah, Royal was the thing that stopped me from going back and I'm glad I did but I couldn't help but be curious about how I was doing before I stopped playing it.

Along with that, it'd scratch my itch and stop me from starting a new game on Royal just to get, like, the three achievements I have left.

I FINALLY got platinum in Royal. Was getting annoyed because I couldn't out what the incense stuff was. Seemed silly once I got it.

Funny thing is I never pay attention to achievements but managed to 100% Royal's first playthrough. Mostly since toward the end I noticed the only one I had left was to meditate at the shrine so I just went ahead and did that on a free day because why not.

Then in New Game Plus I spent a ton of time at the shrine because eventually what else is there to do but grind HP and SP to ludicrous levels. I checked awhile back and if I did another New Game Plus my starting stats would be 820 HP, 547 SP.

Finally beat the original Persona 5 last spring after off/on playing it for years. Genuinely amazing game, probably an all time top 10 gaming experience.

Great game that was 20 hours too long. And I haven't even played Royal lol.

I only got a PS4 in December 2019 and held off on getting P5 (one of the reasons why I wanted one) until Royal came out. Also had really fortuitous timing in getting to do a first time playthrough of P5Royal and P5, period, during lockdown time. Amazing way to spend 150+ hours during a really dark time. Probably one of the best video games I've ever played.

I really need to finish off the trophies I have left in Royal. And that's beating the Reaper and... going to the Maid Cafe enough to get the special menu.

Mine are, like, get lottery tickets and...I think make insense? No idea, but the lottery ticket thing is my big milestone.

Didn't feel like it warranted a separate thread but today is the 25th anniversary of the series as a whole.

I'm inclined to think today, or at some point during the rest of the month, would be a good time to announce something like Persona 3 being on PC or just a general 1-3 compilation if that's at all possible.

Part of me would be a tiny bit annoyed as I dragged my PS3 from my parents' place to continue my Persona 3 game but on the other hand, I want the modding community to do as much of those games as possible, even if I wouldn't play any of those myself.

Rumor is they do have something planned and it probably won't be any of that but I can dream.

I'd sort of prefer that to a full on remake, really. I like what I've played of FES so far (Only 7 hours in) but I'd be happy to start again if it got the P4G treatment.
