Man, can we get Persona 6 already? I’m seriously lacking any new choice based/RPG games to play. I’ve already played Persona 3/Persona 4/Persona 5/Three Houses into the ground.

There's Soul Hackers 2 and Shin Megami Tensei V if you haven't played them already. Demos were also just released for the new Star Ocean and Valkyrie games, though those are action RPG's.

I've thought about looking into Soul Hackers 2 as kind of a Persona in-between thing, though I've kind of largely heard opinions that it's mediocre and lacking in content. And really I think it'd be kind of crazy to spend full price (or more with the DLC) right now on it anyway, with how badly it underperformed it's probably going to be heavily discounted by Black Friday.

It's not as stuffed to the gills with content as Persona 5, but still a fun Megaten game with an interesting take on the classic cyberpunk setting of the original games. Ringo is also a lot of fun as a main character.
And as much as I like Persona, not every RPG has to be a 100+ hour epic. Something to be said about shorter games especially with more limited time for games.

Once I saw it wasn't releasing on Switch I knew it was doomed commercially. AA RPG's (especially in Japan) have their biggest audience in that console and its a hell of an uphill battle without it.

I may of just spent two hours trying to kill the space station boss that was annoying. Even after I worked out I need to use baton passes to do some of that him making my team hunger all the dam time just screwed it up. Please tell me there is nothing else like that in this game

The main problem is Joker going down is a game ender and the boss’s tactics early in the fight caused an issue. Fortunately, the fix was simply choosing the right persona to protect Joker (and debuff the boss).

Space Station fight is easily the worst one in the game in terms of being annoying and frustrating. Not even "Mainline Shin Megami Tensei game" hard, as that's usually a fun challenge. Just really obnoxious.
No shame in going down to an easier difficulty for that fight. It makes it a bit more manageable especially for a first playthrough. New Game+ you can just curb stomp him with your god-tier fusions.

I love Persona 5 (it is seriously on my top five PS4 games list) but there have been periods when I stopped playing just simply because of the length-a 100 plus hours is a lot to commit to. The space station section is definitely the part where I am feeling myself going "Lets get to the end of this already"

It's a problem with a lot of video games in general these days where they feel like they have to justify a game that costs $60-70 by stuffing it with as much content as humanly possible. Persona 5 does have very little in the way of outright padding, so I'll give it a pass there (a lot of Triple AAA open world games are guilty of this, though). But shit, Super Metroid is my favorite game of all time (and also cost the same as a modern day game today, if not more) and that takes me like 4 hours tops on a slower playthrough.
That said, Persona 5 Royal came out during the worst of the pandemic quarantine period when I was mentally in a really tough place. And I probably consider it a top 10 all-time game at the end of the day. But there's also a reason why the furthest I've gone with replays is the Pyramid or Space Station at most, even with access to the overpowered endgame fusions, several carried-over confidant perks, and maxed out social stats.

Vanilla or Royal? He was made significantly tougher in Royal than he was in the original. It was Royal. Once I knew how to get past the part I was stuck on, It still took ages thanks to RNG. If I had hunger on my guys I had to get rid of it and wait for the next set of guys, if I really need to heal the same thing happened and I didn't know I needed to baton pass all my guys to get past the bots I was stuck on for ages, and when I did I only had seven items that did damage to their weakness... To me the issue with him was killing the managers before he could make them self-destruct. Once it was just him he was easy. The big green ones? It's that part where I ended up using a guide. The rest of the fight I could just do myself, it's them that made me go look up guides. And as you said after that it was easy. On the attempt where I did do it, I hit the killing blow right as I was told half the time was gone Space Station fight is easily the worst one in the game in terms of being annoying and frustrating. When I gave in and looked up guides on how to beat him (Well those big green robots), every guide I read had the advice to up the difficulty to merciless for this fight for the greater damage output. I didn't do it, but apparently it's easily on higher difficulties

I think the space boss was the only one I managed to lose to in Royal myself, though in my case it was less his pattern and more I thought I could tank his Big Bang attack and it turned out I couldn't. Got him the second try after some reevaluation.

Crits, Technicals, and Weakness hits roughly 3 times as hard for both the party and enemies. Obviously it's a double-edged sword and you get about half as much XP and yen. But that doesn't really mean so much when you inherit all the powerful personas and money from New Game+. So it actually ends up easier than Hard mode in a few circumstances.

Funny aside, the New Game Plus-exclusive bonus boss in Royal; I spent a loooong time on her continually dying again and again and again, largely due to the phase of the fight where you have to get a critical hit every turn to not automatically lose. Eventually I got through that stage of the fight... and the game immediately softlocked on her next attack. Fortunately next try after that I beat her for real.

I just picked the game back up after having enough due to that boss fight and I have to say I didn't expect to see a full on magical girl transformation

I am in my second playthrough and only now realized that before joining the team Makoto literally follows you around the school grounds and all over Shibuya.
