I'm not mega fussed about P4AU (I have Ultimax on my PS3 since it was a PS+ game and actually have a copy of the original game which I might play at some point just for the "lore") but I'm happy to wait for a price drop just to have it.
I have the Persona dancing games just to have them after their big price drop after all, so I might as well.
The thing is, these announcements have been real coin flips. Some of them make sense to do (merchandise, the May event) and then others are...weird (announcing more announcements) but honestly, I can buy the idea that they'd go "We're releasing P4G on all platforms tomorrow" since it's a big enough announcement to build momentum from to May but not big enough where you'd wonder why they didn't announce it in May.

Should be noted, that might not be THE news for April since it's not a part of the specialized announcement streams but since we're getting closer to the end of April, that might just be the news. It's weird.

It does bare noting that that concert might itself be relevant. That same concert is where they initially announced both Persona 5 and Royal.
That said with how useless the Persona 5 announcement was, and how far ahead of the game's actual release it was, I don't really consider getting 6 that much of a big deal. Honestly way more interested in ports at the moment.
