I posted about it in another Conrad thread but I honestly nearly turned it off with how awkward it got. Did the poor guy/girl get fired before the end of the show?! At the end, Double J tries making light of it by telling the research team to “start now!” for next weeks episode and Conrad tells him to check his e-mall because “he” (the person I’m guessing) “won’t be doing research for you anymore” and that while Jeff was “ranting and raving”, they gathered someone else to do it.

What was/were the subjects matters that got Jeff so mad? The episode was titled Austin 3:16. Jeff Jarrett took it to be an episode about his entire relationship with Austin. Jarrett complained because Conrad almost exclusively talked about Jeff’s relationship with Austin during the Attitude Era and later. Conrad just asked a little about their relationship in the 1980s and in particular the infamous story where Austin got his first check from Jerry Jarrett. Austin was shocked by how small it was and Jeff then slapped him on the back and laughed, “Keep looking at it, it’s not going to get any bigger.” Jeff complained the research team had almost no notes dating back to the 1980s during which time he said Austin and he worked together about 100 times. At one point Conrad looks up an early match result saying he’ll go over the whole thing if that’s how Jeff really wants to do it. Jeff then clammed up and refused to speak. He said Conrad was the captain of the ship and it was up to him to guide it. They eventually got back on track and back to the Attitude Era talk. The whole thing seemed like a worked shoot to me. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was to drum up interest for voting in the best new podcast award the show has been nominated for.

Conrad should have to know anything Austin/Jeff related will of course involved the 1990 check and the issues between the two during the Attitude Era and that's probably not something he would want to discuss.

Jarrett's talked about it a bunch, including with Austin. I don't know if it was a work or not (because there isn't really a story other than Jarrett being his normal delusionally optimistic self and Austin using Jarrett as motivation for becoming Stone Cold) but Jarrett's perspective on why he thought he was on good terms with Austin because they worked a pretty big program in multiple territories years before would have been more insightful than anything. Especially with someone who loves to show their ass like Jarrett does now. I can see Jarrett getting pissed if he felt that he was being forced into telling a story from Russo's perspective

I am sure naive, I legit always thought Conrad was such a historian that he did his own research or had his own notes during the conversations.

I am sure naive, I legit always thought Conrad was such a historian that he did his own research or had his own notes during the conversations. Pretty sure he did in the early days, but with how much content he’s churning out now he’s got people doing it for him. And the research is essentially reading Torch and Observer issues that cover the topic at hand.

I should have guessed it wasn't him doing research but I haven't listened since Bruce in 2017 so I guess I didn't realize just how many he was doing these days. He did always seem natural in knowing the material he was asking Bruce though.

Of all the people, these two to get a photo with? I feel like these types of tweets are deliberate, I wouldn't be surprised if they did some sort of "legends" Q&A tour or something.

Of all the people, these two to get a photo with? Lawler and Flair should have public handlers at all times, maybe Double J filled in.

Cripes, Jarrett's twenty years younger than Flair and Lawler, but he sure doesn't look it these days.
Bring in Bischoff as Sophia and we have a Conrad podcast version of the Golden Girls.

They had my favorite line of the series a few shows ago. When talking about their turkey cook off Conrad goes, “Hey buddy! You think I got this fat by accident?”

Jeff Jarrett should lead a GFW invasion of AEW.
It could start a new boom period!

Of all the people, these two to get a photo with? It was really nice of those 2 pro wrestling legends to take a picture with Jeff Jarrett.
