Bryan's decision always struck me as purely a professional one rather than having any grudges or frustrations over how he was used. He's done all he could do in WWE and AEW's a new professional challenge.

Very classy and I'd expect nothing less from him. I do wonder how some in his new company will feel reading that, though. I would hope everyone is mature and see's where he's coming from, and vice versa.
It's important to keep in mind everyone's experience with a company and certain people within a company are going to be different. While I think a lot go too far with the trashing of the place they used to work and where a lot of their friends still work, some do have legitimate gripes, which is why at the end of the day multiple major pro wrestling companies are needed for this industry to be the best possible version of itself. Someone may not be getting a fair shake or may be burned out or feel too restricted in one company, and a change of scenery can do wonders for them.

Even the people who left WWE with chips on their shoulders or very legitimate grievances still have a lot of friends that work there. Outside of certain outliers, wrestlers aren't nearly as tribal about the companies as the fans are.

Like even Moxley said that he wants WWE to be good so wrestling can be healthy. Plus it helps that alot of these guys are friends from their times in the Indies. And people forget that Mox even said he holds no ill will towards WWE, just certain creative decisions made for him, especially when it came to his heel turn. It's just that people tend to just generalize his remarks as being "f*** WWE" when it's much more than just that. Most of the guys that have left WWE don't really hold a grudge most left because they just wanted to be doing something. They may have complaints about certain things (usually how members of creative talked to them) but aside from Mickie with her belongings I don't remember anybody saying anything bad other than they were bored and the boredom made them depressed

He's done all he could do in WWE and AEW's a new professional challenge. How anyone could think Bryan Danielson left WWE holding grudges is beyond me. Think of where he was when he arrived and compare that to where he is now. On a professional level, he was a multiple-time world champion in the biggest wrestling company in the world, had arguably the greatest WrestleMania moment of all-time, was one of the most popular wrestlers in the company, and was probably made rich beyond his wildest dreams. On a personal level, he met his wife and the mother of his children and was able to make a life-changing connection with Connor Michalek. I think he'll absolutely end his career with a final run in WWE. Even if it's one goodbye match, he'll come back to the company as a thank you.

I’ll know there’s no good guys in wrestling when I learn Bryan Danielson runs an underground bear fighting in the basement of his house. Hey, it keeps the bears off the streets.

I'll absolutely concede that they didn't always book him perfectly, but dude has a resume that just about anyone who dreams of breaking into wrestling would sell their soul for

It's a great read and just makes me a bigger fan of Bryan Danielson. It also shows the divide between talent who have access to Vince and those who have to wade through the maze of stooges and sycophants below Vince.

Great article by Bryan. It is interesting to see his thoughts and to see that side of him. I imagine he will return down the line but for now that is a great way to end his WWE story. I love him so much. He's such a great guy. Punk has legitimate grievances with WWE and a platform to air them but I always felt a lot of fans were putting words in Bryan's mouth about WWE. "I wish more people could see you like I see you" about Vince is interesting considering what we know about Vince. I wish he'd elaborate on that. He's a major Vince fan. According to reports Bryan had a hard decision whether to leave for AEW because he really loves WWE and Vince that much. He also has a notebook with everything Vince has ever told him so yeah, while a ton of people and fans hate Vince, Bryan loves him. It's often been suggested over the years that Bryan was basically McMahon's favourite wrestler. I think that's something a lot of people never really acknowledge - VKM came up in an era where guys were Bryan's size and a lot of them wrestled very technically. Yes, he pushed the business in a completely different direction, but I've always seen that as a promotional move. Even now I think the more old school guys and people like Bryan, AJ, and Shawn Michaels who he can slot into anywhere are his favourites, I just think he's got the size = success mentality ingrained because that's literally how he took over the entire industry. I'm still pretty convinced that a lot of Bryan's retirement years were down to Vince being legitimately very concerned he'd get hurt

It fits.

And I bet none of you thought an article that begins 'Bryan gave his thoughts on apples' would end up being THAT
