It’s weird. I’ve not been a fan of Bliss’ schtick for some time and Charlotte, while sometimes a phenomenal wrestler, tends to annoy me significantly during her promos. But I actually liked their exchange last night. First time in a while I found them to be engaging. Maybe it’s just me, but the report seems… lacking in credibility. Not because it can’t be true because I enjoyed the segment, but just because the arena didn’t seem much different. Yeah, I hate Alexa’s gimmick as much as anyone but the girl has remained consistently over. I enjoyed last nights promo as well but only in the sense it seemed like Charlotte was burying the gimmick. Alexa seemed “trapped” in the gimmick too. Like, she was sounding less evil girl and more old Alexa in responding to Charlotte to try and keep up. But they had the crowd with ‘em, that’s for sure. It felt like they were straight-up deconstructing each other's gimmicks. Which I think is kind of necessary, because yes, Charlotte needs to be something other than "has title" and Alexa needs something other than "is crazy but directionless". But it still came off awkward because Charlotte just flat no-sold everything Alexa said. So...*shrug*

Hey everybody, come back! One of the wrestlers decided to clap back for some reason! The Bruce Prichard School strikes again. Like, I get it. It must be f***ing frustrating to be out there, have people generally reacting well to some pretty iffy material, and then be confronted with the story that this segment was allegedly responsible for literally driving away a noticeable portion of the exact same audience on a scale apparently never before seen in a live wrestling crowd, allegations that don’t seem to have much to go on in terms of visual evidence at this point. This is on top of any pre-existing criticisms she’s already getting, be it for the gimmick or her look or whatever. It must be SO TEMPTING to just go “Shut the f*** up, let me do my damn job and leave me alone” and put some of these people in their place, but you can’t do that as a public figure. Clapping back only makes it worse because now you bring the “WWE hates the sheets” agenda into play, as you specifically reference yourself. It’s not worth the trouble.

Funniest part is her acting like she doesn't know who Meltzer is.

Yeah, with how Alexa is reacting on Twitter, I’m going with “planted story to take away from the Plane Ride from Hell episode of Dark Side of the Ring where they don’t come off particularly great”. The consistency in how they quickly turn a negative story into a separate "f*** Meltzer" story is...well it's definitely something.

Like, the whole “Seth did a speech in the locker room” thing that was a cover for people talking about the Saudi flights…if I were Seth, I’d embrace it and make up the speech I said. “Nah, I wasn’t talking about Saudi Arabia, I was recapping Winston Churchill’s famous “Their Finest Hour” speech!”

It also gives a sense of legitimacy to what came off as an offhand comment during one of Meltzer's ramblings during WOR. It would've likely died in obscurity but now you've given it a platform beyond the audience that reads the dirtsheets and more staying power.

Between this and the whole “Here’s a random thing. WWE fans have less money and are less educated than AEW fans” thing. Meltzer is on a bean lately and it’s really funny What a really dumb thing to say if he said that

this is the one I saw at least. All this really shows is that us in the AEW Main Event Diversity thread were correct in saying AEW's got a diversity issue but that's another story. I don't know where the whole "well uh AEW fans are smarter" thing comes from. If Meltzer said that then he's getting paid under the table. Hey everybody, come back! One of the wrestlers decided to clap back for some reason! I mean I can't blame her. I love when wrestlers clap back. Even if wrestlers are wrong at times, it makes for good entertainment. Before people start the paid bs rumour again without checking,Khan had said AEW fans in average have higher formal/college education, and the reports from checking that confirmed it,thats about it. No one ever said AEW fans are "smarter" except people trying to make it sound like that

On that note, I forget if I posted this here but at All Out there were guys from AdFreeShows (I know it was them because they were holding up signs and such) going around the line before the show trying to start "F*** Dave Meltzer" chants. Like this dude is the biggest heel in wrestling for some people hahahah and while Meltzer says plenty of stupid stuff on his own, the specific vitriol towards him as this 100% WWE bashing, 10000% AEW/NJPW praising dude has been turned up to 11 by Bruce and WWE lol.

That's basically speech. If anything you made it look worse for him especially when a large amount of people on his roster don't obide by those rules. Why bring that up? What point is he making by saying that? That's like me saying "well people who live in this part of the city have more lavish things", by proxy you're going to think that those who aren't there aren't as lavish. If anything it sounds like he's an asshole to push higher education above those who might not be. That's stupid. That's some Vince shit.

Let’s move on from this discussion because it has zero to do with the thread itself.

Sure, that fele free to think that,I wont debate that, knock TK all you want. Just its not some narrative Dave is putting out that AEW fans are smarter like people want to twist it into being because they dislike then or what they reported Edit:As asked I will stop talking about it

Tony Khan has admitted he is a numbers guy and he wasn't kidding because that is basically how he talks and weaves narratives and basically uses it to say things like calling WWE fans dumber and less educated in comparison to AEW fans but he doesn't say it like that he uses numbers speak so no one can accuse him.
He may try to pain this picture that he isn't anything like Vince but he has Vince like traits.

Alexa should create her own Meltzer doll and hypnotize him when he’s about to determine the WON awards!
Best Gimmick: Alexa Bliss Worst Promotion: AEW Booker of the Year: Vince McMahon Worst TV Documentary: Dark Side of the Ring

He may try to pain this picture that he isn't anything like Vince but he has Vince like traits. I mean anyone who watches Football (both American and European) and even remotely follows the Jags and/or Fulham will tell you that Tony Khan has some incredibly thin skin and easily lashes out at any sort of actual serious criticism. But this thread is about Meltzer and his reporting of the Alexa/Charlotte stuff. Now I hated the stuff last night, but it's apparently pretty popular, so what do I know? I just think Dave really needs to start double checking any reports he gets, because it's pretty apparent he does little to no actual fact checking before publishing it (and this is a best case scenario), or is outright publishing these stories in an attempt to mudsling in a worst case scenario. It's pretty obvious at this point that Dave just needs to stick to wrestling history at this point. There are more well connected journalists out there at this point who can get news stories and actually vet their sources. Dave is a historian at best, at this point.

I saw this happen in Newark for the Dynamite/Rampage taping. The main difference is that was two separate tapings but a good 2Kish people left around 10 PM which is when this segment took place. It's definitely something I haven't seen at a WWE show before too often but there were also more visible empty seats than usual in a building. Like for all the stuff we say about Kevin Dunn, he rarely ever shows empty seats on TV and he had no way to avoid it last night.
