Meltzer needs to just never talk about women or anything involving women.

Maybe they're giving out bonuses for each Tweet: One day when if she doesn't work there any more she will realise how often she went hard on behalf of a company that barely cares if she lives or dies

Like, I get it. It must be f***ing frustrating to be out there, have people generally reacting well to some pretty iffy material, and then be confronted with the story that this segment was allegedly responsible for literally driving away a noticeable portion of the exact same audience on a scale apparently never before seen in a live wrestling crowd, allegations that don’t seem to have much to go on in terms of visual evidence at this point. This is on top of any pre-existing criticisms she’s already getting, be it for the gimmick or her look or whatever. It must be SO TEMPTING to just go “Shut the f*** up, let me do my damn job and leave me alone” and put some of these people in their place, but you can’t do that as a public figure. Clapping back only makes it worse because now you bring the “WWE hates the sheets” agenda into play, as you specifically reference yourself. It’s not worth the trouble. It also gives a sense of legitimacy to what came off as an offhand comment during one of Meltzer's ramblings during WOR. It would've likely died in obscurity but now you've given it a platform beyond the audience that reads the dirtsheets and more staying power. It didn't die in obscurity though. It was picked up, discussed online and re-reported by sites like Ringside News, which have nearly 200k followers. That's how Alexa saw it in the first place. As for the actual comment, it just seems a bizarre to come out with to me. This wasn't a house show, this was a televised event. You can see 20% of the audience didn't leave and not come back. You can hear fans didn't react overly negatively towards it. It was on TV.

Years ago I went to a UFC PPV and the main event was Demetrius Johnson vs some dude. It was a boring technical fight, and at least a few thousand people left half way through the match.
I can see the Alexa segment being the final straw after 2 or 3 segments of lameness.

It was a dumb thing for Meltzer to say and easy to vet. He also needs to have some awareness that the company and performers are looking to find a heel for all their ailments, and Meltzer is an easy target.

Yeah, with how Alexa is reacting on Twitter, I’m going with “planted story to take away from the Plane Ride from Hell episode of Dark Side of the Ring where they don’t come off particularly great”. It's definitely a weird and fascinating trend where days after any sort of major scandal we suddenly get a "WWE talent calls Meltzer out for suspiciously bullshit story" episode. It's like clockwork. That's not a defense of Meltzer here, dude is slipping. But the timing is always funny.

Hearsay isn’t journalism. Basically built his entire professional life on it.

Maybe they're giving out bonuses for each Tweet: Or maybe he made her feel like crap by “reporting” that a quarter of the arena left during her segment?

Regardless of what the actual number is, this is what was facing the hard cam during the main event. Once again, it's very rare for this shot to have this many empty seats for the main event. You could see more on other angles and they only shot roughly one third of the lower bowl for TV. No matter what you think of Dave, there were a good chunk of empty seats on the TV facing side last night. I have no idea why, maybe there was something big in the area the next morning. A lot of people left Dynamite at 10 PM last week because a lot of people had to get back to NYC for work the next day. But seats were empty for whatever reason.

No, Dave from start said he didnt know if Cole heard it but that it was discussed in meetings. But many reporters said it was pitched in meetings, not to cole,as Dave had said This is exactly what I am talking about the disinformation of it.

Cole said he was never pitched the idea which lines up with the reporting out there. No one ever said he was directly pitched the idea, just that it was one of the creative directions they were considering.

So who does have a narrative?

I feel like a bigger issue is probably the people who tweet at these wrestlers using the "reports" as the truth....
Imagine getting a tweet from some incell that thinks they can call you all sorts of names cause Dave said you're bad at your job.

I don't know or care if this is true, but Dave's got some opinions about the women in WWE that's... pretty dang messed up.

We should start putting Meltzer quotes on the ban list. The guy is completely unreliable.
