I think the Apter mags or someone was giving him a lot of press, trying to get him over as the next monster. He did have a brief stint in WCW but that's about it.
When I was younger, I WAS interested due to his look of having the all-black contacts.

I was thinking about him like two nights ago when I was thinking about Johnny K-9's Dark Side epsidoe. I always thought of these two guys together because they were 1990s guys with similar look and would usually only be talked about in magazines.
I remember Mauler best from New Wave Wrestling magazine around 1993-1994. New Wave was pretty awesome, to me. It has lots of cool ads for merchandise but it was almost all non-kayfabe with real names being used and backstage news being discussed. They were the ones who broke it to me that Kane was Isaac Yankem.
Does anyone remember New Wave? They had a pop culture magazine put out in the late 90s as well but I don't remember the name of it. I'm not sure if it lasted long, I didn't see it very long at the news center.

Never heard of the guy. He doesn't look all that Mongolian to me. He does look pretty awesome though with those black eyes. I'd have loved this as a kid.

He spent quite a lot of time working in the UK and mainland Europe in the early nineties and enjoyed a degree of success. This was around the time promoters on this side of the pond were being decimated by the American promotions, and decided the solution was to book a load of WWF and WCW jobbers like him and PN News. He makes an appearance in Robbie Brookside’s Video Diaries.

I remember him showing up for a very short run in Smokey Mountain Wrestling. Didn’t really do much there.

I also remember seeing him in the Apter mags and thinking he had a really cool look with the black contacts. I was excited to see him show up in WCW. I think Colonel Parker brought him into WCW as a mercenary to take out Brian Pillman around January or February 94. He did like 1 or 2 squash matches on Saturday Night and then lost clean to Pillman about 3 or 4 weeks into his run and that was it. Never heard anything about him ever again. I remember looking him up around the mid 2000's but didn't find much.

I don't remember that at all and I was watching WCW Saturday Night pretty regularly at the time. I remember the character pretty well from magazines so surprised I don't remember this. I think my pop even taped shows for me to watch again. I'm surprised he doesn't have a wikipedia given how many lower tier independent guys do.
