You could replace Jim Ross most nights with the text to speech engine from Moonbase Alpha. Both just randomly begin talking about football.

The story of this match is Tony peer pressuring Excalibur into burying MJF. I'm surprised no heel tried to unmask excalibur yet.

Aw, I really wanted MJF to do the Mr. Perfect turnbuckle sell there.

I love Tony’s absolute vitriol for MJF.

Good match to put between Danielson/Omega and Punk and the bigger matches later. Pillman Jr has a lot of potential and this is a great way to hype him up with the crowd.

Pillman's got potential, certainly, but I don't think he should be getting this big of a shot just yet. It's the lowest match on this card though. If it were a title match I'd say maybe not. But he's done well in this feud imo I'm not saying he's trash, I just think it's clear that he's punching up in this feud. The green's still showing - and that's to be expected. I don't think he's the caliber to be on the biggest card the company ever puts on though. I'd have put someone else in there, but hey, what do I know? I'm not running the hottest wrestling company.

Great in-ring for sure, but his psychology is all over the map here. That'll work itself out in due time, though. Pillman is defitely "mid" when it comes to the AEW roster. I would say he is the least talented, but he is not on top either. He shows promise He’s got a great physical charisma, with decent wrestling and decent promos. But you can also see the potential for those to improve. That’s why I’d like to see him do an Impact excursion, I think he could be a star but he’s not there yet.

Look, I don't think that's how it's going to happen, but that's definitely how I'd book it. Stand that peroxide motherf***er up and kick his head off, Black. Booking a top face like that would not be very good booking. Cody's very clearly over no matter how many people hate him here. I don't agree, he's less over than Black (now) and has been frequently booed against him. People expect Rhodes to come back and have a competitive match against Black, win or lose, because that's exactly how his feud against Brodie was booked, it's also how Cena-Lesnar was booked and how most follow-ups to major squashes are booked. If Black beat him again in a short 5-8 minute match (Perhaps a bit more competitive than last time, but still) it would subvert expectations - in a good way - and instantly establish Black as being on another level, being something different, and being absolutely ready to slot into the main event scene. It's not how I'd book every program, but here and now, with a guy whose finisher is as snapshot as the Black Mass, that's how I'd do it. Rhodes has had this crisis of confidence into 'actually no, I'm actually as good as I thought I was' storyline 2-3 times now, I think it's time to have some sort of lasting change to either take him heel, or on a detour into the tag division, or whatever. His role at the minute is a gatekeeper - he's kept that gate far more often than not, so let's let someone waltz through.

Don't know if I agree with that, after all the shit MJF has done and said about the Pillman family.
