I made a thread on these, but it didnt go anywhere. What did you think of these? It was mocked by the IWC of the time, but looking back, it's a nice callback to when wrestling was mainstream enough for people to have parties themed around a wrestling show.
EDIT: Can the mods please move this to Wrest of wrestling please?

Always sorta liked the idea of them, but never knew enough people to get one going.

It was a really cool idea, that almost always came across f***ing terribly. Almost everytime the people came across as tools, where an advertiser would take one look and be like “This is why a 30 second spot isn’t worth f*** all on this show”

We would do something like that. Watch the first hour of Nitro, flip to USA for Raw. Then once Raw was over flip back to TNT for the replay of Nitro.
Never applied to be an Official Nitro Party. Mostly cause why bother.... Once Nitro ended we still gathered and watched Raw each week until the Benoit stuff in 2007.

I remember my college wanting to set up a Nitro Party in our club on campus.
About ten people showed up and after about 20 minutes I just decided to head back to my room and watch from there.

I was like 11-13 during the heyday of Nitro, so of course I always thought they were an extremely cool idea and I always wanted to be a part of one.

I tried to start something like that again. I asked a bunch of co-workers if they wanted to come over my house for a wrestling party. Then HR made me take a training.

The whole idea was worth it for maybe the best part of the Russo era: the debut of Daffney in a “Nitro Party” where she was just rocking back and forth on her bed.

It sounds like a terrible idea but honestly, a PPV party with a bunch of wrestling fans sounds like a great night to me.

It sounds like a terrible idea but honestly, a PPV party with a bunch of wrestling fans sounds like a great night to me. From summer of 97 until July of 2007 every ECW/WCW/WWF ppv a bunch of us would gather at my buddy Drew's house. He had one of those "ppv" boxes where you got everything on PPV without having to pay. He would always cook a big meal and provide drinks. There was always a hat on the table where everybody coming over would toss some money into. And Drew would use that money to pay for the food and drinks. It was a blast. Usually there would be 10 to 15 of us crammed into the tiny ass living room of his apartment. But then the Benoit stuff happened and most of us lost our love of wrestling for a bit. The last 3 years at least 2 PPVs a year a few of us with gather either at my place or at a buddy's apartment. And do the same thing. Put a hat on the table. Everybody ,besides whoever is hosting, throws some money into the hat. And that is used to pay for food and drinks. Next month to celebrate a buddy's birthday, plus as a house warming party,we are all gathering to watch the Impact PPV.

My Nitro party consisted of me sitting on the couch bitching about how Nitro was inferior to Raw and how WCW just stole everything from the WWF, but actually spending more time watching Nitro than I watched Raw cuz you know it's where the big boys play(ed).
