Man, if he really thought she had everything he said, he wouldn’t have fired her. That just reads flat out manipulative to me.

Even if they were good bosses, I’d tell them to f*** off. EDIT: Also, if she wasn’t good as a wrestler…don’t make her a wrestler. Problem solved.

I think it just feeds into the "Vince loved me, it was X that had it for me". It also remind me of Punk's story of how Vince would say"he owed him one" "you are like a son to me".I'm just of the guideline that you should never trust anything Vince says. To be fair too,I do think he thought Lana had great upside, perhaps so much it hurt Rusev in the long run

As an independent contractor, they should never be going into a job with that attitude period as there are no guarantees to longevity in those situations. Everyone on the outside throws a fit but these people literally sign contracts that state they can be terminated at any time within reason as do most independent contractors. All the other labor laws etc that WWE may be breaking is beside the point...She served her purpose and they moved on as they have and always will...

For the record, before the job I have now, most of my jobs have been shitty zero hour jobs so I know all about that. Don’t f***ing text me trying to say “Oh, you’re actually really good, you have so much upside” when you still fired me. You have zero right to butter me up when that happens. Leave me alone.

I'm reminded a bit of the story about Vince telling Jack Swagger that he was being wasted, as if somehow the former is in no position to do anything about it, but felt the need to express his sympathies.
It could just be Vince's weird way of thinking, that these kinds of statements are encouraging to employees that are let go.

The messages were bad timing more than bad intention I believe.

It being out of his hands is this weird fallacy we try and do to put the blame on Ace or Khan or Pritchard or whoever the boogeyman is this time out. It’s always Vince, it always has been Vince. Just like when Disney fired people, it was Iger (or Chapek now) or if Amazon fires people, it was Bezos etc.

I can certainly understand your disdain for that text...I probably wouldn't be happy either but in her situation, she basically can walk right onto AEW whenever she desires so neither party was losing.

I mean, again, none of that has to do with trying to butter people up after you do that. We know all that, there are people trying to attempt something for that. And she could go somewhere else tomorrow just like I could have gotten a job somewhere else. And that’s, again, not my point. If you fire me for reasons that aren’t my fault, don’t text me afterwards and try and act like it was out of your hands or I was actually not worthy of it because, guess what? If you wanted to keep me, you would because you’re in charge. THAT is my point here. All the other stuff is dressing.

Right, like unless you want to refer me to someone or otherwise are backing any of that up with material benefit to me, it just seems silly.

His praise was focused on how hard she tried, not the quality level of her performances. I doubt that was unintentional.

There's no way I'd ever get hired by WWE for anything but if I ever did, I think my worst nightmare would be on a texting basis with Vince. Between this and Punk, it never seems to end well one way or another lol

If Vince was texting her after her release, it was probably in the form of "nudes pls".

He also texted her to say "Stick the winner" and included a truck emoji.
