Finally, this is just my own wild speculation, but I suspect with MCU with its various shows doing so well, that the BBC might just have their eye on doing something similar with RTD at the helm. He was the one showrunner to pull off DW related spin-offs with any strong success, and given that Stolen Earth/Journey's End was essentially the Avengers of the Whoniverse, I don't think it's out of the question they might try something similar again, especially given that Davies has been fairly enthusiastic about Big Finish and that its his production company now co-producing the main show. Ace, for one, he intended to bring back in the Sarah Jane Adventures, before Lis passed away. They've given her a modern day framework already, between the Season 26 trailer, the novel and two or three Big Finish audios. Big Finish also brought Ace into their Torchwood range recently, so if RTD wanted to bring it back (for the returning BBC THREE) he could insert her into it, although I think she'd be better suited for a CBBC show.

Haha, I've been rewatching various episodes in the past few weeks, and recently I thought to myself "Maybe it would be too weird since he's a former showrunner, but it would've been kinda interesting to see RTD brought in as just an ordinary writer for some random episode here or there for later Doctors"

It certainly would've piqued interest again for a show that's come across as bland more than anything else recently.

Eh...
I'm not as excited for this as most... Davies run went on a bit long... and had a lot of really dumb shit in it >_>
That said fully understand why they'd want to pick the guy that brought it back to try and clean up hit after Chibnall's really poorly received run.

Read on RTD's instagram that today was the start of pre-production on his second stint, so I hope that means he's going to have production notes prepared for the following month's issue of Doctor Who Magazine

According to a recent podcast, RTD has just come off finishing five scripts for an ITV drama. Nothing else known about it, but that'll undoubtedly keep his profile quite high while he toils away on Doctor Who. As previously reported, he recently posted a photo on Instagram announcing over the weekend pre-production had started on the 60th

Oh great, back to the guy who gave us sentient blowjob paving slab Moaning Myrtle. are you trying to imply that being turned into a sentient paving stone is somehow not a happy ending?

After Jodie regenerates, the next new episode of the show in 2023 will be the 60th anniversary special in November. Russel T Davies has already written several of the episodes for next season. twitter.com/i/web/status/1473578655158882306

Bookies Coral has revealed that "four in five bets placed on the next Doctor Who market have been for David Tennant over the last seven days." www.express.co.uk/showbiz/tv-radio/1597673/Doctor-Who-Jodie-Whittaker-replacement-David-Tennant-oddsIt's come to light that David Tennant had been considered for the role of the regular 14th Doctor and that the negotiations got leaked to the press, which is why there was a lot of coverage about Tennant returning earlier in the year. Just for those keeping score, the person who said David Tennant was coming back on reddit a few months ago correctly called Ace, Master, Daleks, and more being in the centennial.

I love Tennant's doctor, it's the one I have most association with for Doctor Who and was the time I was consistently watching.
Unless the story was done extremely well (and Davies could do that), him returning as the Doctor would be awful and a massive step backwards.

Thing that gets me is that due to the non-linear nature of the show you don't even have to have Jodie regenerate into David Tennant in order to bring him back. Just show some of his off-screen adventures that they alluded to. He apparently hopped around for decades or even centuries putting off the events of The End Of Time. You can set a series or two then.

As if any Doctor, or fictional character for that matter is going to die if they are making money.
