Yes any and everything that has not finished production will be shut down. The entire entertainment industry will stop. What are the actors going to do during the strike? Voice over work? What are studios going to do? Acquire, dub and reedit forign movies? What are networks going to do? Show more live sports and having to rely on forign shows (even Japanese Anime airing on US broadcast OTA TV?) All depending on if the strike actually happens and also how long it lasts I expect alot of foreign countries about to get a whole lot of incoming work. From foreign directors , actors and actress's. etc just like you said and sports.

The Strike (if it lasts months) could lead to the NBA on ABC moving up it's season premiere (won't happen though as it is tradition for the OTA Network NBA slate to begin on 12/25) and\or ABC asking NHL to let them air games to fill up the network schedule (would have to be replaced by an alternate game in the home markets to protect the local RSN broadcast of the game like the early days of MLB on ESPN) and AEW Dark airing on linear network TV. But the big beneficiary would be Anime as it may get a chance on American Prime Time OTA TV (some anime may have to be edited to comply with FCC OTA broadcast decency standards)

If the Canadian chapters are part of the group authorizing the strike, Vancouver can be as affected by this as Hollywood.

Yeah... if hte strike happens get ready to have netflix shows or youtube things to watch cause... it's gonna be a long one...
and unlike the writer's strike they can't just throw gameshows and reality tv up...cause this is editors, set designers, costume designers, and basically everyone that makes the show...
IASTE do have a few contracts with specific channels I believe that might not get stopped via strike... but that remains to be seen.

If this happens and goes on for a long time... boy AEW and WWE are gonna get paid out the ass... more so than they already were or might be looking at.
Quite frankly other wrestling companies who want a TV deal might be able to shoot their shot if it goes on a long time and companies are looking for new things to air and fill time... long shot in that regard but still.

Most of the live action shows I watch already ended so it doesn’t interrupt most of my viewing. Just the Goldberg but I’d be satisfied if it ended after that episode where they acknowledged the grandpas death.

Well yeah, I don't watch a lot of first-run stuff. Mostly Fox Sunday and Food Network honestly.
But I know a lot of people do watch everything and it'll probably aggravate them. I do want the people to be treated fairly behind the scenes and in front of the camera though. As I said the entertainment industry hasn't had it easy, nor has its fans, as it is since 2020. I hope the decision makers realize that.
Me and my being a person of two minds!

Anyone know if the people who set up entrance stages, put up the ring, work cameras, etc. are members of the IATSE? If so, WWE and AEW could be as affected by this as any Hollywood production.

I had to go back and see the numbers So if the strike happens 60'000 IASTE members could walk off the job and would result in a national shutdown of tv and film production because of three locals 600 , 700 and 800 are national unions. The local 600 (the largest of the locals) represents 9'600 camera operators and cinematrgraphers so if they walk no one in the US would be able to hold a camera on set in the US. So for those thinking wrestling would be safe not likely...unless AEW , WWE wants to start filming things on Iphones. And just to add to that the local 700 reps 8'600 editors. So wrestling could try for non union workers but good luck with that one.

I feel this is a good time to remind people there are some awesome TV showds and films just as good as anything in Hollywood from Europe, Asia and the rest of the world.
One thing I learned a few years ago don't just dismiss shows or films because you need subtitles, there's lots of great stuff out there readily available on Netflix and other streaming apps.

If the strike happens? Good.
Like, for all it might affect us as fans, the demands aren't really ones that can't be done by these big billion-dollar studios and if they can't do it, well, that gives more questions than answers.
