It was back and forth throughoutmuch of the match until The Giant took control by chokeslamming Hogan. He then toyed with Hogan for a few minutes, beating him down from pillar to post. Eventually, The Giant chokeslammed Hogan again and then covered him for the pinfall. However, referee Nick Patrick refused to count the pinfall. This angered The Giant, and he chokeslammed Patrick as well. The rest of The nWo rushed to the ring to attack The Giant, but he chokeslammed all of them. As this happened, Hogan recovered and Eric Bischoff handed a guitar to him. Hogan tried to nail The Giant with the guitar, but he grabbed Patrick and threw him into the guitar shot. The Giant then chokeslammed Hogan and Bischoff, pinned Hogan, grabbed Patrick’s arm, and made the count. The bell rang, and The Giant was declared the winner and the new WCW Champion!
However, the title was held up the next night on Nitro because of that finish. A Triple Threat match was made for SuperBrawl VII with Hogan, The Giant, and the winner of a battle royal. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper won that match and got into the match. Surprisingly, Hogan and Piper double-teamed The Giant in the beginning of the match to take him out. Then, they duked it out for a while, but The Giant recovered and cleaned house. However, a distraction from Bischoff allowed Hogan to low blow The Giant. He then threw Piper head first into the steel post, knocking him out and allowing Hogan to pin him and win the match. Hogan then held onto the title until an August Nitro where Lex Luger defeated him for it. But, Hogan won it back at Hog Wild. So, he’s the champ again for the winner of the 1997 World War 3 Match, where the winner will get a shot at the WCW Title against Hollywood Hogan. Let's see who the Unlucky 2 are. First up, we have:

Rules!!!!
1. 2 men will start out.
2. Another 4 men will come in each poll until the last 2 men yet to enter.
3. After those 2 men enter, the match will continue until all the remaining men left are gone except for 1, who will be the winner.
4. When 4 or more people are in the ring, multiple votes will be allowed. 2 votes for 4 entrants, 3 votes for 5, and so on. You can vote for multiple people if you want.
5. The person with the fewest votes gets the elimination. If there’s a tie between 2 people, they’ll share the elimination. If there’s a tie between 3 or more, the person who’s been in the longest will get the elimination and then it will alternate going down for the next time it happens.
6. Since there’s a No Elimination option, in case of a tie between 1-3 people and No Elimination, then No Elimination will automatically win and no one will be eliminated. If there’s a tie between 4 or more people and No Elimination, then No Elimination will automatically lose, and those people will be eliminated from whichever ring they’re in.
7. If all the combatants tie with No Elimination, then No Elimination will automatically win.
8. If the last 2 combatants left tie in the last poll, then the person with the most eliminations will win.
