Mark Henry is really bland but I think Jericho is still the worst on commentary. My goodness all he does is go at a 10 when its not required and that act gets old quick. He's trying so hard to get his shit over for some reason. Pineapple Pete worked because he didn't shout it a dozen times in a row

Which is worse since he yells over everyone. If he dialed it back it would ve q thousand times better

Elevation works fine when it's Tony and his two misbehaving sons. Mark Henry needs practice and the only way he's going to get it is on the youtube shows.
He's going to find his niche, we just need to be patient.

How long had he been at the company then, and how much commentary experience has he had? He's not lacking in charisma, but he needs practice and polish, only way he's going to get those us by on the job experience. He's not calling full shows, he's scaled back so he can do what he does well and improve where he's lacking with two others to help ease the pressure. I've little doubt both Tonys are giving him notes, steering him in ways he can improve, but improvement will take time. AEW have earned the benefit of the doubt in my book, when things don't work, they try and fix them and give them time. Henry may not work out as a commentator, but I'm not really willing to write him off so early.

Mark Henry has been good at saying “it’s time for the main event!” and that’s the extent of his positive work on screen.

Eddie is really the glue that holds that booth together. To an extent that I think he and Paul Wight together is a top tier booth, but Paul is one of the worst commentators around without him. I get that Eddie has to go wrestle and stuff sometimes, but he really should stay in the Elevation booth full-time. His presence is invaluable. Eddie: hey Paul: what Eddie: peenalope Paul *happy bear sound*

I still question why they never hired Veda Scott(she was great at Knockouts Knockdown, carrying Mickie on commentary). She wanted to go back to Canada to be with her partner.

Its crazy to me that he this bad. I thought he be good at it, since he naturally had a personality outside of wrestling and being around as long he has, he have good insight. But he just comes off as just really awkward and sometimes he seems bored.

Just make him a manager for someone. Jade Cargill, why not?

Just make him a manager for someone. Jade Cargill, why not? I like this idea. He can throw in a random Worlds Strongest Slam on someone this way. And honestly if they are hellbent on having him be a commentator have him be a heel. His betrayal of Cena was, in my opinion, one of the best heel moments of all time.

Mark Henry on Elevation was possibly the worst announcing I have ever heard in my life. He is by far the worst on screen talent AEW has hired, but his strengths are in doing charity and outreach. His bullying stuff, his revealing Rampage spoilers, his horrendous announcing, he has easily replaced the thing I liked least about AEW. But I do think with all his warts, it's important to have a Black man behind the scenes.
But there was one point where Lee Johnson hit an amazing dropkick, looked fantastic, and Mark Henry said "You have to look long and hard to find someone as ugly as the Butcher."

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the suggestion that Taz is better than Tony Schiavone.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the suggestion that Taz is better than Tony Schiavone. Honestly, I totally get anyone who likes Tony more. Tony's still one of the ones I like most, I just think that he is a little out of his depth sometimes, probably just since he was out of wrestling for so long. I do think it is getting to be less of an issue over time, just sometimes I think he sounds a little confused about what it is people are trying to get over.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the suggestion that Taz is better than Tony Schiavone. Taz at his best is probably better than Tony at his best, but Tony at his worst is better than Taz at his worst. However, they can't accurately be compared anyway, as one's PBP and one's colour.

In regards to AEW commentary, I gotta say that in all of wrestling today my favorite color commentator has gotta be Taz. He's really entertaining and I love the way he hypes up his Team Taz wrestlers whenever they're on screen.
Eddie Kingston is a very close second. When the time comes when he's done in the ring, I hope he does full time color commentary, cause he's a blast.

When did Taz get good at commentary? Taz (idiosyncrasies aside) has always been great at explaining how moves hurt and the technique required behind them, what a wrestler needs to do next in a match etc. When it comes to just pure in-ring analysis, no one is better than Taz. His banter is also fantastic when he's with someone he has a rapport with (Cole/Excalibur). However, when you get TNA I don't give a f*** Taz with a commentary partner he doesn't vibe with, yes, he sucks.
