The one death that took me by surprise. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Was Judys death since she was one of the more liked new characters from 4 , and also because people were able to catch onto Deweys death from the trailer so it was not such a surprise atleast to me when it happened.
But something I would like to see is Gail now really struggling with Deweys death and her becoming more unhinged so to speak....not saying to set her up as a future killer but losing Dewey just over the course of the next few movies sets her down a darker path...where maybe she gets manipulated easily into helping the killer in a future movie.

If anyone wants to know just how much I love the entirety of the Scream franchise, *especially* the first movie, all they needed to do was watch me as I viewed this for the first time. There were, off the top of my head, six times that I had thoughts/reactions only someone who loves it as much as I do would probably have. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}1 - seeing Sid for the first time, as she jogged along the water pushing a carriage, and being like "my girl!" because I will never not love the shit out of Sidney Prescott. She's my Final Girl hero.
2 - remembering that Mark, the name Dewey used when asking about Sid's husband, was the first name of Kincaid in Scream 3, and taking that to mean that their relationship eventually lead to marriage and kids.
3 - seeing Billy Loomis appear to Sam. I avoided spoilers or chitter-chatter so I didn't know or speculate on anything, and seeing him was a total pleasant surprise for me. Even when I watched Riverdale, I didn't refer to Skeet's character as FP Jones; he was always Billy Loomis. I had no clue he was going to appear and I loved it. Sure, he was a psychotic teenage serial killer, but he's *my* psychotic teenage serial killer, and it was good to see him haha
4 - crying at Dewey dying. I braced myself for someone in the trio probably dying because there was no way they should all be able to survive a fifth movie intact. Still, when it happened, I couldn't help feeling terrible. I was with Dewey this whole time, through all this shit, and it hurt to have it end for him like that, even if it was apt in its own twisted way. And don't get me started on "YOU KILLED MY BEST FRIEND!!" I still giggle that a Scream movie made me cry, though.
5 - immediately - and I mean IMMEDIATELY - recognizing that the house party was in Stu's house. Again, I didn't follow talk on who filmed what where, and I didn't assume anything from the tone of the movie thus far. I literally saw the inside of the house for about half a second and went STU'S HOOOOOOOOOUSE because I *know* what that house looks like. I've seen it far too many times not to.
6 - knowing they'd do the little Ghostface quick cut after the cast credits (done just like the first movie, which warmed my old heart!), waiting for it, and smiling at not being let down. There were so many details, big and small, that I won't ramble on about, but really liked. And I loved that they named Dylan Minnette's character Wes. I know some people felt they shouldn't make another Scream movie if Wes isn't here to direct it, but I doubt Wes would have felt that way. And I never met him, but I think he would have really liked the first installment made "For Wes."

btw, for continuity's sake, there is one thing that I had minor gripe with. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}The ideal that Billy started it all. He was the first killer, but as revealed in the 3rd film, Roman started it all.

It took so much away from Billy and Stu, and felt cheap. The other stuff with Roman being Sid's brother, I didn't care, but the movie trying to tell me that he was the puppetmaster behind Scream was a big ol no for me.

{Spoiler} well that I’ve rewatched the scene, When referring to Billy and Stu, Roman did mention that he had “no idea that they’d star a movie of their own.”

I thought this really, really sucked. The fact that they {Spoiler}killed off my homie Dewey is unforgivable. Those original 3 should've been untouchable.

The killer in the next film should be Drew Barrymore, playing the twin sister of her character in the first film.
