Thankfully, Tony did the right thing and lowballed him. New character coming, low money Matt.

Honestly how Matt acted after Jeff's DUI left such a bad taste in my mouth I don't want to watch him wrestle Matt has always had this weird "pathetic wretch" anti-charisma that makes him really easily hateable, and not even in that "love to hate" way. More like, you almost feel sorry for him for a moment, but then you realize "no, f*** this guy." He's the kid the entire student body points and laughs at when the bully trips him in the hallway.

Honestly Jeff Hardy was the worst thing to happened to Matt.
Matt was good as the broken character and could work as a manager.
As the Hardy boys? Nah ,especially after de dui

Nah ,especially after de dui I think the issue is, Matt constantly pushes for Jeff to wrestle. The Broken stuff ran it's course, he was fine as a manager but not great. Matt always seems to want one last run and the only way he really gets it is with the Hardys.

Let's be honest, there's zero value in Matt and Jeff now. It maybe blunt but it's the truth. They are both broken down, injured and shadows of their former selves which I take no pleasure in saying.

I don’t think Matt could get a job in WWE outside of maybe being an agent and they already have enough of guys like him right now tbh.
Jeff could probably get a job in a Carlito type role as he’s Jeff and is always good to sell a little merch.
Matt should go to TNA.

Matt Hardy go be a road agent somewhere brother 🙏 This is the ideal situation; dude clearly is very creative and has loads of experience. He can be a big benefit to any company in a behind-the-scenes role. I'm a big defender of Matt's work in AEW (maybe because I watched a lot of Dark, which is where a lot of the good stuff played out), but the fact that he didn't pivot the Big Money character when it clearly wasn't working is a mark against him. I swear to this day if they'd folded the entire thing into Private Party (with TH2 as ravers and Butcher and Blade as the bouncers) and Matt had adopted the character of someone trying to act cool by partying with the kids, even though he should be mentoring them, everyone's career would be much different. ...except Matt's, ironically. Because they still woulda hired Jeff and the Hardy Boys reunion still woulda sucked.

Matt always seems to want one last run and the only way he really gets it is with the Hardys. Even back when the broken stuff was happening, Jeff knew he had more value than Matt, but he wanted to look out for his big brother and so they did the tag team stuff afterward and went to WWE as a pair, and only really diveged on their courses once injuries put their availabilities out of phase. And once upon a time maybe Jeff was making that decision in good health and good reason, but the past few years have not been kind to Matt's image, and it seems more and more like Matt's taking advantage of that love.

Years ago, part of me felt bad that no promoter wanted Matt without Jeff, but now Matt is 50 years old and he needs to get the f*** over it. He's a sad sack, and Jeff is ruining his own life to try to keep Matt happy.

Yeah Ibou and a few others made it quite clear that AEW didn't view her as a priority
