It beign a year and a half is a weird time frame. I wonder if that's gonna be it for him full time
They have a lot of voices who can replace him in the end and he can shift to backstage interviews and such more.

For a lot of people, JR is still the voice of wrestling,
If AEW wants to start a new push for new viewers, which they should start considering looking at now they have a core audience, JR can still definitely help in that.
Full time though....maybe it's time to look at what WCW used to do and swap members of the commentary team up half way through a show, give him a rest while giving someone else some exposure?

I actually like that idea. Let JR do commentary on the stuff he clearly likes and bring in a younger voice for the women and faster paced stuff *coughVedaScottcough*

Once JR got out of his "this ain't rasslin" phase he's been much more tolerable overall. Still says something dumb here and there

Love JR for what he's brought to the industry but dude just sounds tired sometimes. Would much rather Taz replace him.

Anthony Bowens is on Twitter complaining he's not at Dynamite and that the opportunity was 'taken away' from him.
Could be a work, could be legitimate gripe.
No idea when his deal is up, but it's another one who could be unhappy (or just working)

Jim Ross has almost three years of television now to 'bring in new viewers' and I don't think he's had much impact at all, nor do I think he'd have impact down the line. What he does have is a weird tendency to say subtly not okay stuff a lot of the time and sound grumpy about stuff. The show would lose nothing substantial by dropping him, but he's Jim Ross so they're going to keep him on.

I am now going to assume he's trying to work and both get attention by sounding unhappy like a few others are likely doing, or he's setting up an angle for a return storyline by himself, or both.

So he's not injured then, that's good ... This is gonna be interesting, The Gunn's causing Acclaimed tension to turn Acclaimed face would be a good story...

I wonder if he tried to come back and it didnt heal right. They can still do 8 man tags with the Ass Boys and he can stay out of the ring. I know TK is super high on him, and I wonder if he was originally booked to do well in the Owen.

I have no problem with Jim Ross resigning with the company, but I really wish he would not be on commentary. At least move him to Rampage; less is more with Ross. He seems to be indifferent (at best) to the product most of the time. If he could move to a consultant type role it would fit him well. He's fully capable of not only pointing out some of the more non-sensical things AEW does, but offer logical, viable alternatives to those issues.
I wish they would bring in Mauro Renalo for commentary. He just seems like such a perfect fit for the AEW product.
The commentary teams would look like this: Dynamite - Mauro Renalo and Excalibur Rampage - Jim Ross, Taz, and whoever else wants to sit in, like Ricky Starks (Please no more Jericho!) Dark - Excalibur and Taz are perfect together Dark: Elevation - who cares? lol.. I know AEW is trying to get their money out of Paul White and Mark Henry, but they are possibly the worst duo in commentary history
Move Tony Schiavonne to full time interview person. We need a modern day Mean Gene. He does most of them anyways, and he's good at it. He adds very little to being a third man on a commentary team.

Yeah add me to the list of people who respect what JR has done for the industry overall but really wish he’d let someone else take his spot at the desk
Like you could easily replace him who someone who tries to actually sell the storylines instead of poking holes in them like he does half the time it seems
