Him not even listing a name for who was in charge of WCW, and saying he had no idea who his boss was, is reason 1 why WCW folded. You gotta have somebody in charge, somebody the talent knows who is in charge, and somebody who is the final say. You can't be told by 6 different people to do 4 different things, and not know who to listen to. Wasn't there some WCW wrestler who at one point - possibly out of boredom - tried to figure out just who was technically the #1 boss in WCW?

I remember hearing vaguely on here once that Sunny helped run an indie show one time, and then stiffed a lot of people out of money because "they haven't payed their dues yet". Someone help me with the details on this.

The Tenryu story is a good one. Cool of him to give Lance a bonus when his 1st kid was born.

I want to say it was Lance Storm and Kevin Nash having a conversation and they figured the most powerful person in WCW was Diana Meyers because she was head of legal and she dealt with all the contracts.

I heard it was Jericho and another wrestler. And they deduced the person in charge was the lady who handed out the checks.

There was a wrestler in TNA who was so happy he finally qualified for SNAP benefits (that's food stamps), and people were thinking he was making fun of poor people, only to address that... yes, he really needed food stamps cause TNA wasn't paying him that much.
Think it was Jesse Neal.

Here’s a thread that could go 100+ pages. Inspired by a story I heard recently on the AIW podcast. They did a show about poorly run local promotions. Owner John Thorne was very clear that this was NOT an AIW show this happened on. Anyway, John Thorne and the late Chandler Biggins were booked to do live commentary on a local show. Some name talent was booked including Heidenreich. When the show started Heidenreich saw there was only about a dozen fans there. The owner was obviously not going to be able to pay everyone without losing his ass. So Heidenreich just took the entire cashbox and left! Now, the other talent knows the promoter has no money to pay everyone else. Making the most of it some of the wrestlers forced the promoter to go to the gas station with them and fill up all their tanks on a credit card. They may not have been able to get paid, but at least they had their gas money covered. I'm certain various people around the delta region have lots of Heidenreich stories, that's for sure.

We should just all be thankful that he never tried to start a cult. He did, it was called ECW. Apparently, this was how WWE convinced Syfy to not go over the top of science-fiction on ECW's revival.

Roode and Eric Young were owed a combined half million when they left I remember Bruce Pritchard said on his podcast (so take with a grain of salt obviously) That Roode called like 7 times looking for his check and Bruce kept telling payroll to cut a new one since it was getting lost in the mail or something... until Roode threatens to sue... then miraculously the first check arrived at Roode's house... and of course there's also the hire literal neo-nazi's to bully the production company to work for free... this thread could EASILY be nothing but TNA and ECW stories and probably not double up.

I remember so many TNA Diehards were trying to be like... oh it was no big deal. Taylor Wilde just wanted to make some extra cash! As if that made TNA look better somehow? The thing they're hyping as REAL competition to the WWE can't afford to pay a champion that's on TV every week enough money so she doesn't have to work a retail job at the mall?

Does it count if I mention Tammy's compensation for Chris Candido's death being a smoked ham? From what I was told a while back, they couldn't legally give her his last paycheck as they weren't married, so it went to his parents. Sending her a ham dinner as condolences was still pretty bad. Yeah Chris's parents were listed as his beneficiaries so they got his money. There was a lot of other stuff going on that basically came down to the Candidos vs Tammy. TNA also reimbursed Tammy for the services she had held for Chris according to Candido's bro. But yeah on the other end of TNA once Dixie's mom and brother got more involved in running TNA they pushed the boundaries on how scummy they could be
