After bringing up how I can barely remember any of the women's ones last night kind of realized it doesn't feel like a lot of the men's ones stick with me either so thought I'd kind of just look through and see what thoughts stand out and if I'm doing that might as well share it. Anyone I don't mention I don't remember what their theme sounds like without looking it up.
Adam Cole - Very hokey but it perfectly fits him. Pretty clearly trying desperately to be the Undisputed Era theme and think it pulls it off very well.
Adam Page - Genuinely a really damn good theme. Maybe could use a slightly stronger opening hook but it's one of my favorites in wrestling right now.
Best Friends - I guess it works? It does have this real, "We threw this together in 5 minutes," feel to it but that does certainly fit with their general aesthetic.
Britt Baker - Kind of has that feel where it probably should get sort of the main event upgrade treatment but I'd keep to the general format it has now. It's decent but there's room for improvement.
Bryan Danielson - Think some of my love for it's maybe faded off a little but still really dig it, much prefer what he has over if he'd wound up with Final Countdown. Probably would prefer he were using the lyrical version.
Chris Jericho - It's a great theme but I'm pretty past caring about anything to do with Jericho. Still, can't knock it by any means and feel like it gives him an extra star presence he was always kind of lacking with his WWE theme. Kind of the same reason I always preferred King of My World over that, sounds more theatrical.
Christian Cage - It's always been a decent theme. Not mindblowing but solid. Really when it comes to Christian I'm always going to miss the first version of Just Close Your Eyes.
CM Punk - I don't feel like this even needs commenting on?
Cody Rhodes - It's a pretty good theme. Think it worked better in the early days of AEW when he was like the only guy who had a theme that sounded professional but in a stronger landscape now it's just kind of, yeah, it's there. Would be better if that stupid choir bullshit was chopped off it.
Colt Cabana - It's really annoying and I feel like I'm missing something so I guess it's perfect for him.
Darby Allin - Think it's probably a pretty substantial part of his appeal, it kind of fits his whole vibe perfectly.
The Dark Order - I remember it, that's about the most I can say for it. Do think there's a decent basis there for taking the broad strokes of it and giving it a more complex revamp that makes for a better song, kind of give the stable its Slow Chemical.
Hikaru Shida - I had to think about it for a minute to remember it but I did so there I guess? Hearing it on TV more than once in the past six months would've probably helped with that.
Jim Ross - Only including him because I said I'd include everyone whose themes I can remember.
Jon Moxley - Really like how different it feels and it does suit him. I think they could stand to turn the audio up on it higher, it usually sounds weirdly faint, but I like it way more than his old theme. Really found that one just completely forgettable, I kind of only managed to at all remember it because it was Mox's. Same way that it took me months to remember Kevin Owens' theme, that one.
Jurassic Express - I way preferred their old one.
Kenny Omega - It's good, better since having moved past the drawn out intro. Kind of falls under that same class as Cole's, it's very corny but it certainly fits him and the energy is a good fit for wrestling.
Lance Archer - Pretty good. Really glad that newer one didn't last very long because it sucked ass.
Lucha Bros - It's pretty bad.
MJF - Pretty painfully outdated. There's a good blueprint for a theme there and it's not bad but it sounds like the kind of half-assed theme you give to someone when they first debut then shuffle it out for something better when they start to really rise up the ranks, except he's had it for ages.
Nyla Rose - I only really remembered the opening hook but at least you know who it is. Listening to the song past that it's... not great.
Orange Cassidy - Always loved the song, took some time to grow on me as a theme but think it works very well for him.
Private Party - Certainly better than their migraine-inducing first theme, I'll give it that.
Proud and Powerful - It's pretty crap. Feels like they threw it together in 30 seconds.
Riho - It's good but it takes too long to start. It's got a good warmup to it but it feels like her entrance is usually all but over with before it actually kicks into gear.
Ruby Soho - Definitely the best theme among the women. Think it maybe starts a little too abruptly, could use like a quick guitar rift or something first?
Sting - It's alright. Doesn't blow me away but you know who it is.
Thunder Rosa - I mean, I know it's hers by her name being screamed at the start of it, though I'm never going to be able to tell songs in this genre apart or find them at all listenable.
The Young Bucks - Feel like it could maybe use another take? It'd be kind of a hard sell to change it at this point and I would want to keep the general blueprint of it but it could probably go a bit harder than it does in terms of the instrumentation.
Adam Cole - Very hokey but it perfectly fits him. Pretty clearly trying desperately to be the Undisputed Era theme and think it pulls it off very well.
