This really sucks... if it gets to that point I really hope AEW would give JR a sendoff he deserves. Hope JR can beat this thing... pulling for him.

It sucks, but I'm sadly not surprised. Commentary is taxing, but especially if he undergoes chemotherapy, it can cause dry mouth as a side effect, which would make doing commentary even harder on him.

He needs to get off the road because most cancer treatments weaken the immune system and the last thing he needs is covid. AEW can take all the precautions in the world, but the fact is airtravel is like playing russian roulette with the disease. JR's focus needs to be on his health at this point, focus on beating this as he knows there'll be a slot in the company waiting for him when he gets the all clear.

JR closed off tonight by saying "I'll see you all in the near future," possibly hinting that he may indeed be taking time away for skin cancer treatments.

I know he loves it but the dude’s too old to try and juggle it all. I think a Tony/Excalibur booth would be great. Throw Taz in if you need to but I think Tony and Excalibur can do it.

All my best to JR. People have had gripes with his AEW commentary here and there especially when it comes to potentially questionable references... but the dude is a legend and a voice of wrestling generations. I think everyone is pulling for him to get through this.
Give that cancer a Slobberknocker JR! Get well soon and I hope to see you back soon!

My Dad has gone through treatment twice for a rare form of skin cancer. It is so draining, and can be painful if he’s having radiotherapy on top of other treatments. My Dad is one year older than Jim, so I know it’s possible for him to pull through, and I’m sending positive thoughts his way.

Jim posted an instagram of his radiation treatment and it looks like it's going well.
Fortunately for him, skin cancer is one of the most treatable (if not outright curable) forms of cancers out there. Probably because it's easier to catch early compared to other cancers.

My mom knew this, but I did not, and casually dropped in the middle of a phone call in a basically upbeat tone “oh and your dad has cancer” “WHAT?!” 🤦♂️ Unlike JR, was the sort where they just need to remove a small surface patch of skin at the doctors. BUT YOU CANT JUST DROP THE C-WORD MOM!

My grandma's had skin cancer a couple of times related to sun exposure. But it was easily treated. Fortunately, it's not hereditary and I'm a cave troll who never goes outside, so it's not something I have to worry about for me.
