Nah, man. No reason for you to be that old when you did it and not know what the connotations of the Nazi salute are. Come on now.

Uneducated on Nazism whilst simultaneously doing a nazi salute in a Hitler mustache, now that makes sense!

Please, don't take this as a defense of this fellow, but as somebody who is both Jewish and has majored in Holocaust studies, I can safely say the lack of education and ignorance about the subject spans age groups, demographics, and social status. I can't speak for what is in his heart, but I do hope that he did in fact spend time at the Holocaust Museum, and has learned how hurtful his actions were.

Everything about that statement was great, until he tried to deflect blame about not knowing the context of what he was doing
The rest of that statement read pretty sincere, but you can't hold up a wall and be like "Oh I didn't know", ask Brian Kendrick how well that initially went.
I will say there is a chance he didn't know just how drastic it was in context, maybe he thought he was memeing more than hurting? But I hope he's learned regardless.

I like to think people can improve and I don't like to define a person by a singular choice or event. I think it's plausible that someone grew up and learned who Hitler was and what it meant to be a Nazi but did not take it seriously enough and was unaware of just how horrifying the Holocaust was. Hitler/Nazism has become a term associated being incredibly harsh - like the Soup Nazi or being a grammar Nazi. Obviously what he did was horrible but I am willing to let him work to improve himself. He could also be a white supremacist who learned about the Holocaust and thought it was great. No one can ever truly get inside his head. But like I said, I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt and hope they can become better people.

Apparently the statistics in regards to learning about the holocaust among millennials and gen z Americans are depressingly low.

As a person who does like history, yes I will know and be informed on stuff like this. Hell, I did a college paper on Nazi propaganda.
While he does not get a full pass, he does get a chance to learn from his very idiotic mistake and show that isn't the person he is. His best thing to do is take his punishment (which he did by getting fired), try to give some type of sincere statement (which he sort of did) and learn to roll wit the punches and just keep his head down as learns to improve himself. Not everyone will forgive you but people will be willing to give you 2nd chances if you show you are worthy of that chance

As a reminder in 2015
a) Nash Carter was a grown ass adult b) He'd almost certainly met at least one Jewish person before. c) we were already in the current wave of unironic Neo Nazis trying to infect and recruit from literally every online community.
Also this nonpology is glaringly missing "I didn't beat up my wife"

Nah, man. No reason for you to be that old when you did it and not know what the connotations of the Nazi salute are. Come on now. ”I didn’t know!” has become part of the apology starter kit. I understand it in theory; it puts the blame on a past version of oneself, not the person standing here today who has grown and evolved. But (as we see here) it too often comes off as disingenuous. It’s rare but I like it when an apology sounds like it was actually written by the person apologising, and when the crux of it boils down to “I was really f***ing stupid and I apologise and I’ll try to do better”. Too often it’s; “I didn’t know this slur was offensive back when I was much, much younger (last year) and I am so grateful for the opportunity to grow and I apologise to the entire world and universe, and please let’s do better so why don’t you go do some charity work like I did?”

I can see a young dude in this day and age not seeing how the using Hitler as a joke like that is offensive. Should people know better, yeah, but let's face it, our stuff is all kinds of f***ed up.

While I'd like to be open to the idea of him getting another chance (probably in MLW, not in WWE right away), I'm also not willing to stick my neck on the line for him, and if people more qualified than me say he shouldn't get one, well, they know better than I do.

As a person whose family is Jewish and lost people in the Holocaust, I give 0 shits.
He isnt a Nazi, he wasnt doing anything in the context of being a Nazi or a racist or a white supremist or anything else. He wasn't even spouting hate rhetoric like Kendrick.
It was a joke picture meant to be for his friends that someone released to ruin his life because they couldnt handle a break up.
I have on my phone a picture of my best friend doing almost the exact same thing when he shaved his beard, because he knew I'd find that hilarious, because as friends, we know each other enough to do that.

I just don’t buy the Wayne Hennessey defence used there of “I didn’t know” like come on now. Hitler is probably one of the most infamous people who’s ever lived how do you not know?

I just don’t buy the Wayne Hennessey defence used there of “I didn’t know” like come on now. Hitler is probably one of the most infamous people who’s ever lived how do you not know? I'll use myself as an example. I had a kid in my high school class of like.. 60 people in rural bumf*** Tennessee that I used to insinuate that he was a nazi. I'd throw up the Heil as a dig at him because "haha heehee nazi funny". I mean shit, look at the comedy that we had for us 90's kids. South Park was on TV using "Jew" as an insult. That was thrown around so so sooooooooo loosely at my high school. But, when I got out of high school and got into the real world I realized "ah shit. I can't make jokes like that anymore. Those REALLY aren't cool, they aren't funny, and they probably never really were; my environment was pretty f***ed up." Now, was Nash Carter a teenager when the photo was taken? No but he was 23, so that'd put us in 2015? The height of super off color SJW jokes and anti-woke memes? The height of "hurr durr I identify as an attack helicopter!" jokes? I'm a year and a month older than the dude, and I had TONS of friends making jokes like that, without realizing the consequence or the effect it could have on people. And again: this was a snapchat that was screenshot'd that wasn't meant to be seen by more than like one or two people. Oh and I believe MJF agrees, and he knows the dude personally as opposed to just watching the guy on a TV. [MJF Deleted Tweet that said: I lived with the guy. He's not an anti-Semite]

I wish I could be like, oh, he totally knew.
But unfortunately, the education system in the US can be really bad when it comes to social issues/civics. So I can totally see him not having a full understanding.
I just hope he really did learn something and will do better.

That did lead to one of the most unintentionally hilarious headlines/quotes though when Roy Hodgson said "Wayne Hennessey is desperate to learn about the Nazis."

See, Brian Kendrick said, "I did some shitty things I knew was shitty and I'm trying to make up for it by working with such and such charity."
This dipshit says, "I was uneducated on the Holocaust."
Nope, f*** you forever. Leave the public eye and go work in a garbage dump where you belong.
