We can start looking to the third fourth Halloween movie next year. This shall be unrelated to the either the first third or even second third Halloween movie, instead following directly on from the first first Halloween movie and the third second movie. The second first and second second Halloween movies aren't going to be approached again, I believe, so we've had to go back to the first first Halloween movie, ignoring both the first second Halloween movie and all Halloween movies on from that. Which is a shame, as the first fourth Halloween movie had some potential, although it was the second third that helped revitalise the franchise, which had been damaged thanks to the only fifth and only sixth movie. But, the second third movie did do much to change that, before it was scuppered by the second fourth movie and had to lead to the second first movie. The ignoring of previous movies isn't uncommon, as the first second movie was ignored by the third second movie, relying only on events of the first first movie to help set up the plot of the second third movie. Of course, there was also the first third movie, which was unrelated to the first second movie entirely and was ignored by the first fourth movie onwards, although the fourth second movie did have some nice Easter eggs in relation to it. The second first and second second movie remain unrelated and in their own thing. Probably for the best, as people believe that the second second movie damaged the standing of those in relation to the second first and second fourth respectively. In short, now that we have the third fourth Halloween movie to look forward to, we can appreciate the classics such as the first first, first second, enjoy the more enjoyable ones such as the first fourth and second third, as well appreciate the first third for standing out so much. With the success of the second second that helped us overlook the second fourth and only fifth and only sixth, perhaps we may even get a second first movie in the future to bring the franchise around once more. Because of course a franchise about a man in a mask stabbing teenagers needs four different timelines and a spin off. Of course. Of course.

Halloween has to have the most timelines of any franchise:
The original Laurie Strode timeline: Halloween, Halloween 2, H20, Halloween: Resurrection The Loomis/Jaime Strode/thorn cult timeline: Halloween, Halloween 2, Halloween 4, Halloween 5, Halloween 6 Silver Shamrock: Halloween 3 Zombie-verse: Halloween (2007), Halloween 2 (2009) The new Laurie Strode timeline: Halloween, Halloween (2016), Halloween Kills, the next Halloween film.
We bag on the terminator films for the timeline shit they pull, but man did the owners really screw with a simple story about a killer and a babysitter.

I thought the 2018 Halloween was great, but I still do think Rob Zombie's 2007 Halloween was pretty good. Never saw the sequel just because I didn't really think it needed one (and some of what I heard about Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 sounded really f***ing dumb), but eh, I liked it.
Daryl Sabara being a bully character is my favorite kind of silly though. Juni, no!

Michael was best in Halloweentown when he confused it with Haddonfield and murdered the grandma.

And the Akkad family's made a killing doing it. I'd love to see a breakdown of Halloween merchandise sales, because I feel like the movies are just as much an advertisement for t-shirts, mugs, you name it as they are about turning a profit at the box office. Like, there's a f***ing Halloween Resurrection t-shirt for god's sake: www.fright-rags.com/products/hacker-womens

I liked the 2018 movie, but didn't bother with the new one.
At this point I just sort of feel sorry for Jamie Lee Curtis that this is the only work she can get. Michael Myers is going to keep trying to kill her until she dies of old age.

Halloween was a better movie than Halloween or Halloween. According to Rich Evans, Vampires is a better movie than Halloween.

And, somehow, they're all not connected, and yet they're all connected at the same time. It's the most incredible thing. Even Halloween 3, which was their attempt at making Halloween an all-purpose horror franchise, not just "Michael Myers stalks around and kills people", wasn't safe from this, and this was the first attempt at splitting things off.

Halloween III also has a pocketverse where Halloween '78 and presumably Halloween II '81 are just movies in the Silver Shamrock Universe.
